Cy Saenz
Cy Saenz 5'9" | 170 lbs | RB/ATH | 2030
NM

New Mexico has many talented young football players. Here are some of the 2030 prospects (freshmen) ready to make an immediate impact upon their team:

Zeek Abeyta, West Las Vegas: How talented is Abeyta? WLVB head coach Patrick Rodriguez described him as “one of the best football players I've seen in a long time.” He will likely see significant action at linebacker and defensive end for the Dons.

Taylon Brown, Gallup: The 6-foot-2 Brown will see action at defensive tackle for the Bengals. Emerging as one of the top young D-Linemen in the Four Corners.

Marco Caballero, Pojoaque Valley: Promising WR for the Elks. He'll get opportunities to shine this season.

Miles Cavanaugh, Robertson: Saw action with the Cardinal varsity as an 8th-grader in 2025. He'll be in the WR rotation for Robertson this season and will catch his share of passes.

Adonis Duhart, Cibola: The 6-foot-1, 290 pound Duhart has been battling for a starting job in the trenches. He's listed as a RT/DT. Cibola opens the season Thur. night at Sandia.

https://twitter.com/AdonisDuhart/status/2076719117533343776

Jeziah Ehmcke, Bernalillo: Ehmcke is a key part of a deep defensive end corps for the Spartans. Played for the Bernalillo varsity as an 8th-grader in 2025 and was credited with 16 tackles, 2.0 TFL, 2.0 sacks and 6 QB hurries.

Nick Miller, Hope Christian: The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Miller will be the Huskies' starting QB when they travel to Gallup for the season opener. Excellent arm. Goos composure in the pocket.

Adrian Perea, Silver: Perea deadlifts around 500 pounds, making him one of the strongest 2030 prospects in the state. He's competing for playing time along the Colts D-Line. He could earn a starting spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251758' first='Cy' last='Saenz'], St. Pius X: Is Saenz the next great running back in the Albuquerque Metro Region? Perhaps. He'll be the Sartans' No. 2 RB in 2026 ater playing varsity last season. St. Pius X head coach Curtis Flakes II already describes Saenz as 'elite' and 'extra special.' The Sartans have big expectations for Saenz both for this season and, of course, the future.

https://twitter.com/CYSAENZ21/status/2082894766891757799

Jack Short, Manzano: The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Short possesses a good arm for a young quarterback. Right now, he's a pocket passer. He'll start at QB for the Monarchs when they face Albuquerque Academy on Saturday.

Michael Torres, Valencia: Torres is so talented that the Valencia coaching staff has taken a long look at him at WR this preseason. Torres will definitely contribute to the Jaguars varsity in 2026.

Crew Victor, Rio Rancho: We've talked about Victor in the past, beginning with the Ft. Lewis 7x7 Tourney in June 2025. He was the Rams' backup QB last season and started the playoff game vs. Carlsbad. This season, the Rio Rancho coaching staff plans to give him an expanded role in the offense. He'll still be the backup QB, but will have a package of plays ready to go that fit his talents.

https://twitter.com/CrewVictor12/status/2060922801771683997
