It's not often that Minnesota produces this amount young, high-potential, highly-athletic WR tapent, much less in one collection on one team. Let's take a deeper dive into the White Bear Lake WR corps, below.   --    Dare I say, superstar? Minnesota's #1 receiver in the 2029 class, Antonio Brown, headlines the state's deepest and arguably most talented group of wideouts. A freshman starter for White Bear Lake in 2025, Brown was an All-District Honorable Mention selection as a freshman and first-year starter in Minnesota's Class 6A, Big School ranks. Brown was nearly the Bears' #1 producing receiver last fall as well, finishing his debut campaign with 19 catches for 297 yards and 3 TDs, and he followed it up by having one of the best showings during the Summer Camp SZN of any 2029 in the state, not to mention a tremendous overall offseason that included big-time showings on the 7v7 trail as well as the PrepRedzoneMN showcases. This past April, at the PRZMN Spring Showcase, Brown measured "i<a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/04/prepredzonemn-spring-showcase-session-2-all-camp-team/">n at 5'11.75", 164 lbs., with a massive 80" wingspan and 9" hands, the WBL 2029er clocked a 4.81 laser-verified 40, 4.34 shuttle, 8'8" broad , and 6.92 L-drill to really get PRZMN fired up at our hosting showcase. Extremely twitchy out of the slot, Brown was a big-time deep threat with ball skills and deep ball tracking ability, and his outstanding length was an asset when creating a huge catch radius. Brown had some very soft hands as well, and was overall one of the most consistent performers at the entire PRZMN Spring Showcase.</a>"   He then caught and held our attention at the second Minnesota Golden Gopher prospect camp of the summer. From <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/06/minnesota-gophers-6-7-prospect-camp-underclassmen-top-performers/">our recap of the event,</a> "Brown, who asserted himself as WR1 before the second Minnesota Gopher prospect camp of the summer, solidified the status during 1v1s, stepping up against a highly-productive DB who was locked in and on a heat check, and produced a highly-effective, highly-eye-catching release with deadly footwork, easily stacking the DB and torching him deep. Brown looked different in that winning rep. Different like a budding FBS WR different. Buy stock now."   The freshman's highlights and game tape show off an explosive vertical threat and instinctive route runner who can read the DB's disposition and is able to change tempos effectively. Brown can drop his hips and smoothly change direction at the top of the route and without any wasted movement, and he tracks the deep ball well and will sell out and sacrifice his body to reel in a catch. The WBL rising sophomore can easily chew up a DB's cushion in man coverage thanks to his burst and speed, can line up at multiple WR spots, and will reel in and finish catches over the middle and in vulnerable positions, will sell out and extend his body with a big hit incoming from the defensive safety spot. Robert "RJ" Stuckey Jr. was creating some serious hype as a breakout WR prospect and name-to-know during what was an electric and very successful sophomore 7v7 campaign, landing squarely in the crosshairs of PRZMN, where he had to see his consistent ability to separate and big play mentality and disposition live and in person ourselves. Stuckey Jr. was a no-doubt winner who solidified his hype and skillset at the PRZMN Spring Showcase, where his measureables during testing and nuanced, twitchy, and consistently effective route running skillset were on full display. However, what I had somewhat forgotten about Stuckey Jr. until reexamining his sophomore tape for this feature was that the 2028 recruit is a serious and legitimate CB prospect in his own right.   Primarily a JV contributor in 2025, Stuckey Jr. asserted himself as a true three-phase playmaker, not to mention a vertical threat as a WR and ballhawk from his CB spot. He was a physical press corner with loose hips and ball skills that show up all over his tape, and he almost took two kickoff returns back for six against Forest Lake to highlight some explosiveness. The 2028 standout demonstrates an effective understanding of the route tree, impressive footwork and the ability to gain depth in his backpedal while staying square and keeping the gate closed for a streaking WR, and he proved he can easily undercut passing attempts and use his WR skills to make plays on the ball from his CB spot. All he's missing right now is some varsity tape. Another freshman starter for WBL in 2025, White made the most of his opportunities as a first-year starter in the Class 6A ranks, coming in as the Bears' fourth-leading receiver with 15 catches for 172 yards and 2 TDs, according to MNFootballHub, and earning Varsity All-District Honorable Mention honors for his efforts. White had some strong showings on the 2026 Summer Camp Circuit and proved himself to be a legit athlete with some eye-catching measurables and athletic numbers posted during testing portions of the UWRF Mega Camp and University of St. Thomas prospect camp, highlighted by a 4.74 40, 4.5 shuttle, 9'3 broad, and 34.8" vertical. Some serious athleticism at a now-reported 6'1, 186 lbs., indeed.   White also made some serious noise and found noticeable success during 1v1 action against DBs on the camp trail, a trait that translated well from his freshman tape, where White asserted himself as a big play threat who can make routine slants and receptions and convert them into big plays, chunk gains, and touchdowns. PRZMN found ourselves impressed by his strong hands that can cup the ball and reel in tough under thrown football off the turf, as well as finish and complete catches through tight coverage and oncoming hits over the middle. The 2029 threw fellow freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1719095' first='Antonio' last='Brown'] III a TD against Mounds View, and he did a good job of finding space and working open in conjunction with his scrambling QB when a passing play breaks down. Also shows an ability to stretch the field and win vertically against 6A secondaries and flashed some shiftiness and elusiveness after the catch, occasionally called upon for rocket or tunnel screens out on the perimeter. A no-nonsense tailback with some serious burst and power in his game, White III finished last fall with 151 rushes for 859 and 4 TDs at a 5.7 YPC clip, but he was also the third-leading receiver with 10 catches for 177 yards (17.7 YPC) and 0 TDs, making him a must-mentioned weapon in this pass-catching-focused 6A feature. White III earned First Team All-Conference and was the conference's leading rusher in 2025, earned SportsIllustrated Minnesota Player of the Week honors, and proved himself as a real-deal homerun hitter with game-breaking speed against 6A Big School competition as a junior. Good vision, impressive burst and acceleration up to the second and third level of a defense, and his strong lower body helps him easily work through arm tackles and weaker tackle attempts on his lower body. Very impressive contact balance, and he also has the top-end speed to finish big runs for six and outrun those last pursuers and defenders once he finds space. Lowered the boom for a fantastic truck stick into the endzone of a helpless Stillwater DB at the goal line in 2025 that really stuck out in our memory, and White III is also a legit pass-catching option out of the backfield for his QB's safety valve. Should see some major production out of White III in 2026, one of the most underrated offensive playmakers in MN and 6A going into the season.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Brianwhiteiii/status/2081076097488175352 </div></figure>     A sleeper and darkhorse out of the ultra-talented WBL WR room in 2026 is rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='2343217' first='Colton' last='Butts']. At 5'10, 165 lbs., Butts was the team's leading receiver in 2025, finishing with 16 catches for 315 yards and 3 TDs in a solid junior and first-year starting campaign with the Class 6A, Big School, Metro competitor. Butts' highlight tape displays a wideout with good vision with ball in hand and sudden cuts that came together for a beautiful reverse handoff TD carry and score against Prior Lake. The slotback is a good route runner with quick, light feet, and solid overall speed. Butts' also displayed effective burst, proved himself to be a legit vertical threat in a huge pitch & catch for a TD against Coon Rapids, and will reel in and finish tough receptions through oncoming contact and tight coverage. A WR/TE hybrid who is tall, long, and can flex out to the slot or act as the Y depending on the personnel group, Blue will finish tough catches and receptions around the box and MOF through tight coverage. Blue is a possession receiver who break and shut down his routes well for a taller wideout, and is also a good blocker and effective at the top of the route. Another good target for local D3s and NAIAs going into the 2027 recruiting cycle's conclusion.    --
