Christ School 2026 Season Preview

Christ School is entering Year 2 under Clint Alexander and has aspirations of a big leap in 2026. There's plenty of returning talent, so what can the Greenies do in 2026?</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Christ School Greenies Season Preview</h2>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Key Info</h3>   <p><strong>Head Coach: </strong>Clint Alexander</p>   <p><strong>2025 Record:</strong> 3-8 (Lost in First Round of NCISAA-I Playoffs</p>   <p><strong>2026 Conference:</strong> NCISAA Western</p>   <p><strong>Returning Starters (Offense)</strong>: 6</p>   <p><strong>Returning Starters (Defense)</strong>: 6</p>   <p><strong>Key Games: </strong>@ HCA (9/4), vs. Asheville School (9/26), @ Metrolina Christian (10/23)</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Key Storyline</h3>   <p>Christ School enters 2026 as a veteran team returning 12 starters, but the key will be at quarterback. The Greenies brought in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1654910' first='Mak' last='Anderson']</strong>, a transfer from Mountain View Prep in South Carolina.</p>   <p>How much can the dual-threat raise the Greenies' ceiling? Most of the Greenies' returning production is at the receiver position, so the passing offense could be excellent. How good does that make Christ School as a whole?</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key Christ School Players</h2>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Stars</h3>    <p class="text-gray-700">Anderson comes to Christ School by way of Mountain View Prep, where he finished second in passing yardage and ninth in rushing yardage in South Carolina's AAA classification. He was wildly productive, with 51 total touchdowns in 12 games, helping lead the Stars to a 10-2 record. His combination of speed and arm talent gives both him and Christ School incredibly high ceilings.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Stevens was initially an off-ball linebacker prospect before reclassifying to the 2028 class. Since then, he's focused on the edge rusher position, and he's transformed his body. He has plenty of size and strength to hold up in the running game, and he's flashed the type of bend we love to see from pass-rushers. We think this could be a career-defining year for the talented pass rusher.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Taylor is a talented, versatile defender who excels in space and loves to hit. He thrived off the edge last year, earning an All-Conference nod. He moves well and has excellent bend. Christ School's front seven is excellent and should keep the Greenies in games.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">The highest-rated Greenie, regardless of class, is starting center [player_tooltip player_id='1925988' first='Scotty' last='Hicks'], one of the better interior offensive line prospects in the state. Just a sophomore, he's already highly experienced, something that will be key on an offensive line that loses several starters. Hicks has a powerful leg drive in the running game, and the backs should be able to find space behind him.</p>    <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Breakout Candidates</h3>    <p class="text-gray-700">While he's already broken out on the recruiting trail, Crain hasn't yet had a huge season as a receiver. He caught four touchdowns last season for Brevard and showed himself to be a capable blocker. Given his size and speed, I could see him becoming a go-to guy in the redzone. He has the ability to high point footballs and some untapped receiving potential.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Booker is a physical beast who's worked hard to become quicker and faster. He's a much better route runner than you'd expect from a guy his size and could become Anderson's favorite target this season.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">We initially ranked Plume as an offensive lineman, but it sounds like he's going to play primarily on the defensive line this season for the Greenies. He carries his weight well and has the strength to match up inside. Christ School will rely heavily on the rising junior to provide consistency on the inside.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Asumadu is another in Christ School's long-standing Canada to Western North Carolina pipeline, and he could be a game-changing defender. He played a lot of receiver last season, but he'll play linebacker and safety for the Greenies in 2026. I don't know exactly what to expect from the rising senior, but I'm certainly intrigued.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Other Key Christ School Players</h2>   <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2089461' first='Sean' last='Kraft']</strong> | LS</p>   <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1106551' first='Zion' last='Ikeme']</strong> | DB</p>   <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1925428' first='Mike' last='Burgos Resendiz']</strong> | LB</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Christ School's 2026 Outlook</h2>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Team Strength</h3>   <p>While it's not a given that the offense will click, I like the pieces at the quarterback and receiver positions. Anderson should provide a spark to that side of the ball after the Greenies scored just 28 total points in the last five games of the season. His rushing ability should keep defenses honest and open up one-on-one opportunities for his big receivers.</p>   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Question Mark</h3>   <p>That said, the offensive line is inexperienced. Even as the Greenies bring in several talented individuals, they return just two starters from last year's team and no one on the left side of the offensive line. Pressure, especially from the blindside, can disrupt even the best of quarterbacks. They'll struggle if the line doesn't gel. But if that unit is up to par, the offense as a whole could be potent.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Verdict</h2>   <p>It's hard to project the potential of a team that will rely on several transfers, especially against other teams with several transfers. That said, Christ School has some elite individual talent. Anderson is the clear key on offense, and he'll need a couple of receivers and a running back or two to step up as well.</p>   <p>The tight end room is excellent and there's individual talent on the offensive line. None of that guarantees a drastic offensive improvement. However, if things mesh, this could be one of the top offenses in the NCISAA.</p>   <p>The defensive front is excellent, and I trust the Christ School staff to improve on last season. Ikeme gives the secondary an intriguing, proven piece, and if the rest of that unit steps up, there are no true weaknesses on this team.</p>   <p>A lot is unknown, but I'd be fairly surprised if the Greenies don't come close to doubling their win total from 2025.</p>   <p><em>A huge thanks to Christ School head coach Clint Alexander for sharing his prospect sheet and thoughts on his team.</em></p>
