2A PREVIEW: Inside Look at the 2026 Breakout Candidates

<p>High school football is just weeks away in Kansas. In this report, we examine several prospects throughout 2A in Kansas who are looking to either break out on the field or in recruitment. Many of these prospects possess the talent and traits necessary to play at the next level. Here are five athletes to watch this fall.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2332239' first='Camo' last='Jackson'] recently committed to Washburn to play football at the next level. He had offers from Emporia State, Southwest Baptist, Coffeyville, Missouri Western State, and Dodge City CC. Expect him to garner more attention this fall despite the commitment. </p>   <p>He's a force on both sides of the trenches at defensive tackle and guard. He's a high motor prospect who will play throughout the whistle. Jackson is physical at the point of attack and will drive with active feet. He went 178/252 (71%), 2,118 yards, and 16 touchdowns. The young prospect is going to open up some eyes throughout the 2026 season. </p>   <p>Kruger displays solid mechanics and footwork when navigating the pocket. He plays various techs up front, providing versatility and havoc against the opposing offenses. </p>   <p>Mears is quick off the snap and gets into the body of the offensive linemen quickly to create leverage and shed at the point of attack. White currently holds two offers from Independence CC and Coffeyville. Expect that offer list to increase throughout the 2026 season.</p>   <p>White was a critcal prospect for Neodesha last fall as he earned all-district at defensive end, tight end and punter. He's lengthy, athletic, and plays sideline-to-sideline on at all three phases of the game. He's a physical prospect who doesn't shy away from contact. Barranca doesn't hold any offers but expect that to change this fall.</p>   <p>He effectively attacks the short-to-intermediate levels of the field. The senior prospect will go up and get the football if needed.
