Louisiana high schools are fast approaching fall football camp and, in just over a month, the 2026 season.

A strong wave of talent coming through the state means plenty of notable players to watch — as usual for the typically rich recruiting ground — including many for the final go-round in their respective high school seasons.

Heading into August, Prep Redzone Louisiana will take a look around the state region-by-region at some of the most promising student-athletes to take a Friday night to see while they're close before heading off to college opportunities around the country.

Here are half a dozen seniors from northeast Louisiana to watch this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1356159' first='Jayden' last='Anding'] — 6-0, 165 DB — Ruston

The most recent commitment in home-state LSU's class earlier this month kicks off clear trends on this list in that regard. Northeast Louisiana will enter the season with several college commits, including a trio of future Tigers. And, for that matter, Ruston heads into the season with few college commits, including a pair of future Tigers of their own. Anding is one of the nation's more highly ranked safeties, a versatile playmaker in the secondary who is more than comfortable crashing down and playing physically near the line of scrimmage, being a ballhawk on the back end of the defense of even increasingly so covering in man.

[player_tooltip player_id='469439' first='Ahmad' last='Hudson'] — 6-7, 250 TE — Ruston

and [player_tooltip player_id='2227400' first='Josiah' last='Morgan'] — 6-1, 195 WR — Ruston

The Bearcats have been most heavily known in recent years for their smothering defense and complementary run game. But they have the talent and experience at quarterback and in the receiving corps this year to have some real fun disproving that perception. Hudson, who committed this spring to LSU, has developed into one of the nation's elite tight end prospects and one of the top two-sport prospects to come through the state. His rare combination of size, athleticism and ball skills make him a matchup nightmare he and the team have exploited more consistently each fall. And as much attention as Hudson may command, Ruston possesses weapons everywhere else on the field to take advantage. Morgan was one of the state's biggest breakout, stock-rising stars during this past year with an all-district performance, a recruiting explosion and a Houston commitment.

[player_tooltip player_id='1610246' first='Trey' last='Martin'] — 5-11, 185 RB — Franklin Parish

Martin joins the Ruston duo to give northeast Louisiana three of LSU's seven in-state commitments thus far. More notably in Winnsboro, he is slated to give the Patriots an LSU signee for second straight recruiting class. Martin is a returning LSWA Class 4A all-state selection who carried 115 times for 1,310 yards and 26 touchdowns and caught 17 passes for another 277 yards and five scores during a junior year in which his recruiting stock also exploded into one of the nation's top prospects at the position. He possesses a great combination of power and elusiveness and is one of the better route-running and pass-catching backs in the class.

[player_tooltip player_id='489183' first='Parker' last='Robinson'] — 6-2, 200 QB — Neville

Home-state LSU fans have plenty of top prep standouts to watch in northeast Louisiana, and hometown ULM recently added one of its own from just a few miles from campus in Monroe. Robinson was on the PRZLA radar and has continued to live up to those expectations, taking the reigns of his Tigers' starting role as a sophomore and showing some intriguing flashes and big games before then putting together a nearly 3,000-yard junior season with a great 21-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio. The multisport standout is smart, tough and poised with a quick release, strong arm and enough mobility to extend plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='1812209' first='Robert' last='Taylor'] — 6-4, 180 WR — Ferriday

Another talented multisport athlete who is slated to play his college ball for one of Louisiana's in-state programs, Taylor enjoyed a heck of a spring in which helped his Trojans win their first basketball championship since the 1980s and then announced his plans to eventually take his football talents to Lafayette and play for the Ragin' Cajuns. He is a long, springy athlete with a great catch radius and strong hands and a competitive mentality to win each snap — and often does with his ability to go up and make even highlight-reel plays with consistency.

Louisiana high schools are fast approaching fall football camp and, in just over a month, the 2026 season.
