Mankarious Road Show: Offensive Line Notes

At first I thought that pre-snap, Oswalt, rather than bending, played with a wide base; however, later on I remarked that while he competed he had a great base and balance that allowed him to lock out. I liked how when his opponent cross faces, Lane will drive him flush out of the pocket when beat. I also like how he was aggressive in attacking the neutral zone. In that same breath, Lane had an ill advised tendency to lean forward. With a unwavering base and choppy feet, Caruso found himself in front of just about every matchup he opposed. During the back-to-back reps of his that I caught, Wiley got beat with an inside move. To his credit, however, the wily senior worked that cross face into a down block - one of the more vicious ones at that. It was as though Wiley went bowling with his opponent, knocking down all adjacent players who were unable to get out of the way in time. The next rep, Wiley was a bit more ready to go.
