Holding the Line: Offensive Line Standouts from Camp Season

Pounding the pavement hard this offseason, I attended more than 7 events live and in person. Below are miscellaneous notes from this summer/spring season that I took regarding offensive linemen.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter for the latest New Jersey high school football prospect news and not miss a beat!

Having covered numerous players out of Old Bridge at this point, I can stay with a certain degree of confidence that their linemen are some of the more athletic ones in the public school space. With great form, Dante Pluchino further cements this growing impression. Additionally, Pluchino does a great job bending and staying low. This, combined with his ability to move his feet, had Pluchino constantly staying in front and becoming victorious over his matchup.

One of two Park Ridge prospects to participate was [player_tooltip player_id='1703411' first='Ryan' last='Schwartz']. Something that I liked about Schwartz's game is how aggressive he was. Clearly knowing what the word "neutral" means, Schwartz attacked the neutral zone as it is fair game and anyone's to claim.

The second Park Ridge prospect to attend was [player_tooltip player_id='1923987' first='Declan' last='Kenlon']. Kenlon won a very good rep by getting his hands on his matchup and keeping them at-bay. He does, however, need a bit more bend as I fear a low bull rush might give his tall, 6'4" frame a hard time.

A center, Jackson Mickno knows how to win his matchup. Using his arms and length to his benefit, I watched Mickno extend for a victory, even popping his matchup in the head as he deployed a very old-school tactic.

OK Walker III from Manchester is a prospect that would benefit from more flexibility. I thought that at times he lunged forward toward the neutral zone. Siting back more will enable him to be tough to grab, and thus shed, for defenders.

On to new chapters, [player_tooltip player_id='1163208' first='Chris' last='Forte'] (formerly of Camden Catholic), is now headed to Timber Creek (as per his event roster data). With him Forte obviously brings a great, big body to control the trenches. Along with that, he brings a mean streak that looks to claim the neutral zone as his for the taking with pass protecting.

PSR Big Camp Series Coverage

Quarterback, Receiver, D-Backs Session Pt. 1
Quarterback, Receiver, D-Backs Session Pt. 2
PSR Big Camp Series: Defensive Line Session Pt. 1
PSR Big Camp Series: Defensive Line Session Pt. 2
PSR Big Camp Series: Defensive Line Session Pt. 3
PSR Big Camp Series: Defensive Line Session Pt. 4
PSR Big Camp Series: Linebacker Session Pt. 1
PSR Big Camp Series: Linebacker Session Pt. 2
PSR Big Camp Series: Linebacker Session Pt. 3
PSR Big Camp Series: Linebacker Session Pt. 4
PSR Big Camp Series: Offensive Line Session Pt. 1
PSR Big Camp Series: Offensive Line Session Pt. 2
PSR Big Camp Series: Offensive Line Session Pt. 3
PSR Big Camp Series: Offensive Line Session Pt. 4
PSR Big Camp Series: Offensive Line Session Pt. 5
PSR Big Camp Series: Running Back Session Pt. 1
PSR Big Camp Series: Running Back Session Pt. 2
PSR Big Camp Series: Running Back Session Pt. 3
