Welcome to this week's Film Room Review, where we take a deeper look at some standout players from across Oklahoma. This session is all about going beyond the surface—diving into the details you only catch when you really study the film. We're talking about technique, fundamentals, decision-making, and how players respond in key moments.

As coaches, this is where you separate flash from substance. Anyone can make a highlight play, but what shows up consistently snap after snap is what really matters. Footwork, leverage, ball skills, eye discipline, effort—those are the traits we're focusing on in this breakdown.

The players featured this week put together strong performances and showed qualities that translate. Whether it's consistency, toughness, or the ability to execute under pressure, each of these athletes gave us something worth studying and evaluating moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='2111983' first='Keegan' last='Hilliary'] - Elgin

One of the things that stands out most about [player_tooltip player_id='2111983' first='Keegan' last='Hilliary'] is his ability to make plays whenever the ball is in his hands. The Elgin coaching staff does a good job of finding creative ways to get him the football in space, allowing his athleticism and playmaking ability to take over. He displays outstanding hand-eye coordination and consistently attacks the football instead of waiting for it to arrive, giving him an advantage in contested catch situations. Once the ball is secured, he is difficult to bring down, running through first contact and fighting for extra yards with a physical running style. On the defensive side of the ball, he lines up at cornerback, where his aggressive mindset and ball skills are equally evident. He attacks the football with confidence, competes on every rep, and has the athleticism to make plays in coverage. His versatility, toughness, and ability to impact the game on both offense and defense make him a player worth keeping an eye on in the 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1828021' first='King' last='Underwood'] - Piedmont

Class of 2028 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1828021' first='King' last='Underwood'] possesses an outstanding combination of size, athleticism, and ball skills. Standing 6'4" and 210 pounds, Underwood has the long, athletic frame that immediately catches your attention and gives him tremendous upside as he continues to develop. Last season, he recorded 17 receptions for 370 yards and five touchdowns, averaging an impressive 21.7 yards per catch. Inside the red zone, Underwood is nearly automatic. His size and leaping ability make him a difficult matchup, and he consistently goes up to win contested catches. He made several acrobatic receptions throughout the season, showcasing outstanding hand-eye coordination, body control, and the ability to adjust to the football in the air. One of Underwood's best traits is his understanding of how to use his frame to his advantage. He does an excellent job shielding defenders from the football, creating separation with his body without sacrificing position. His catch radius, physicality, and ability to finish plays make him a dangerous red-zone weapon and a big-play threat whenever the ball is in the air. As he continues to keep working on his game, Underwood has all the tools to become one of the top receiving prospects in the Class of 2028.

[player_tooltip player_id='1259549' first='Dominique' last='Coursey']- Plainview

Plainview's wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1259549' first='Dominique' last='Coursey'] has the size and physicality to create matchup problems for opposing defenses. He stands in at 6'2” and 210 pounds with a nice frame and good build. He displays strong, reliable hands, consistently catching the football away from his body rather than allowing it into his chest. That natural use of using his hands to catch the ball, combined with his concentration, makes him a dependable target in all areas of the field. After the catch, he is difficult to bring down, routinely fighting through first contact and finishing runs by falling forward for extra yardage. He is a polished route runner who understands how to create separation and find open windows in coverage. His body control allows him to adjust to the football and make difficult catches look routine, and he never shies away from competing for contested passes. With his combination of size, strength, dependable hands, and route-running ability, he is a receiver who consistently gives his quarterback a reliable playmaker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1642605' first='Holt' last='Wilson'] - Owasso

Buy your stock now for Holt if you haven't done so. After playing at Rejoice last season, [player_tooltip player_id='1642605' first='Holt' last='Wilson'] has transferred to Owasso, where he will finish out his final two years of high school football. Wilson is an athletic receiver with a good frame and the ability to stretch the field as a vertical threat as he did for Rejoice last season. He has a natural feel for getting open, using his route-running ability and subtle hand usage to create separation without disrupting his timing. Wilson is particularly dangerous down the field, where he tracks the football well and displays good body control. He has the ability to make acrobatic catches, adjusting to the ball in the air while maintaining concentration through contact. One of the more impressive parts of his game is his route running. He does an excellent job sinking his hips on comeback routes, allowing him to create separation at the top of the route and give his quarterback a clean throwing window. Wilson consistently catches the football with his hands instead of allowing it into his body, making him a reliable target in both contested and routine situations. With his athleticism, polished route-running, and big-play ability, Wilson has the tools to make an immediate impact at Owasso over the next two seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1829599' first='Brendan' last='Johnson'] - Shawnee

Shawnee 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='1829599' first='Brendan' last='Johnson'] is a playmaker on both sides of the ball where we like his skill set. Shawnee has a reliable playmaker at wide receiver who consistently makes difficult catches look routine. He isn't afraid to go up and catch the football in traffic, attacking the ball at its highest point rather than waiting for it to come to him. Throughout the fil I watched, he has made several acrobatic catches, showcasing good body control, strong hands, and good concentration. Inside the red zone, he is a go-to target because of his ability to win contested catches and finish plays by putting 6 up on the board. He consistently catches the football with his hands instead of allowing it into his body, displaying good hand-eye coordination and confidence when the ball is in the air. I like his route running on how he creates separation and gives his quarterback dependable throwing windows. After the catch, he has the ability to turn a short completion into a big play with his vision, athleticism, and playmaking instincts. His combination of reliable hands, route-running ability, and knack for making explosive plays makes him a dangerous weapon for Shawnee's offense.
