Battle-Tested Ballers Ready For Trench Warfare

The countdown begins as camp season and off-season grinding starts to close out and pre-season focus gets locked in.   The guys up front on both sides of the ball have been hard at it as the competition in the trenches gets more competitive every year.   These guys have been fine-tuning their games and all show excellent versatility along the line of scrimmage, which, from a scouting perspective indicates football intelligence, coachability, adaptability, technical proficiency, and a complete understanding of line play.   Most of the guys below can play all five positions on offense or can be moved up and down the defensive front.   Additionally, they are ready to hit someone in the mouth for four quarters.   If not, they know they will get swallowed and digested before getting out of their stance against elite competition.   In this report, we are taking a look at five trench warriors who have had strong off-seasons and are getting significant next-level attention.   So, without further adieu, let's check out what these guys have been doing to get ready:     [player_tooltip player_id='1475567' first='Kaelin' last='Scarth']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/kaelin-scarth-2/"></a> , 6'4, 275, OL, Derby, '27, up first is an athletic offensive lineman who established himself as a sophomore and then last year emerged as a mauling, brawling force in the trenches at guard or tackle and by season end had secured all-state honors. With his size, reach and burst (4.85 40) he also brings impressive athleticism, as he easily performs a 2-step basketball slam dunk. With that explosiveness, coupled with quick feet and agility and a baller attitude to blow up blocks at the point of origin, he consistently walls off in pass pro with violent hands, but can also pull and plaster defenders on the perimeter. He has had a strong off-season and the word is getting out as he has double-digit offers from both D1 and D2 schools. This summer he has been fine-tuning his o-line technique, focusing on kick slide and footwork as well as hip mobility and pad level. This guy is ready to bury people this fall.     [player_tooltip player_id='2254805' first='Steven' last='Cantrell'], 6'4, 275, DL, Washburn Rural, '27, up next is a guy I reported on in the spring and his off-season has been even busier since then as once he finished up track duties he has been consistently working with teammates doing morning weights Monday through Thursday, training on his own with @TopSpeedLLC twice a week and trench expert @coachjeddy_DL once a week. He was also busy on the camp circuit, including good showcasing at the KU and K-State camps in June. With all that going on he also somehow found a little quiet time to do some fishing. With prototype size (6'4 275), length (77" wing span), explosiveness (9'6" broad jump) and first-step speed (4.8 40) he is a next-level anchor along the defensive front. After a junior year getting warmed up in the trenches (40+ tackles and four sacks in eight games) and an impressive off-season working on mechanics as well as size and speed, this guy is going to crush it this fall.     [player_tooltip player_id='2063120' first='Alex' last='Bart']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/alex-bart/"></a> , 6'5, 240, Edge/OL, Lawrence, '27, he is coming off a solid junior season when forced to play numerous positions up and down the line of scrimmage due to injuries and depth issues, he is heading into his senior year back in familiar territory focused on playing the Edge on defense and offensive tackle on the other side of the ball. Even with playing the different positions he continued to be a force in the trenches, with 52 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and added a pair of sacks. He has also been on the road hitting camps and had a great June at Lindenwood, Colorado State and KU among others. News travels fast as he has picked up offers this summer from Missouri Southern, Butler CC, Coffeyville CC, Dodge City CC, and Benedictine with discussions going on with D1 and D2 schools this summer. This guy has flown under the radar somewhat so far but will change all that in a hurry with a big year this fall.     Harrison Moody, 6'2, 295, OL/DL, Andover Central, '27, up next is a guy who's off-season has been a blur as he transferred to Andover Central this summer as a senior trench warrior from Christ's Church Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was a two-way starter at OL/DL and a team captain. He is versatile enough to play any of the five positions along the front but will be one of the bookend tackles for the loaded Jag offense this fall. Once the season was over he committed to workouts six days a week and the work paid off as he went to state in power lifting and set PRs in key lifts along the way. Before he started working with local standout trainer Coach Tabor and PIA, he was doing footwork and hand placement drills and fine-tuning pass pro technique with trainers in Florida. He recently had strong showings at Emporia State and Washburn and lately has been focused on acclimating with his new Jaguar teammates. The new kid in town is getting ready to shake things up in the Sunflower state. With a couple of seasons under his belt he is starting to show his next-level talents in the trenches as well as demonstrating the kind of strong intangibles that coaches appreciate. He has the size, strength and reach, along with quick feet and is versatile enough to play anywhere along the line on both sides of the ball. He has been burning the candle at both ends as usual, working with Coach Rashad on speed and agility as well as training with Coach Andra at BattleAx for power and strength. He was also busy camping with good showings at Oklahoma, the Hutch O-Line camp and just returned with an impressive performance at the Colorado School of Mines. This guy is a baller who is going to be a strong addition for the powerful Eagles.   In conclusion, get out and see these guys dominate this fall - you will not be disappointed.
