7A WEST: Inside Look at One Breakout Candidate for Each Team

<p>The month of August is days away, which means high school football is on the horizon in Arkansas. This report will cover the potential breakout candidates for each team in 2025.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bentonville:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1679262' first='Evan' last='Canode'] went into spring as the projected starter at quarterback and is expected to be the Tigers' QB1 against Union (OK) on August 28. He possesses good velocity on the football and can adjust his release point (flashing his baseball background). Canode is a quick and solid decision-maker post-snap. He's versatile as he can line up off the edge, at outside linebacker, and maybe flash some ability as a potential safety. Vinson can set the edge with good leverage by his hand usage and punch to force plays into traffic. Nicholson is a reliable target within the short- to intermediate-range. He attacks the quick game effectively, picking up chunk plays after the catch. Despite his size, he's a tone-setter, playing sideline-to-sideline and downhill, and excels in zone coverage and run support. Acosta's ability to transition in zone coverage and to lock down his area is underrated. He uses his hips effectively to generate torque, which helps him apply solid arm strength and velocity to the football. His 2025 impact came on the defensive side of the football. Offensively, he gives his quarterback a lengthy target that can win in contest. Hart is an athletic quarterback with good pocket mobility and footwork to step up and navigate pressure while maintaining his vision downfield.
