2029 Rankings Update: Watch List to Rankings

To make this move it requires us to have been able to dive into your film or we were able to watch the athlete live and in person through the summer months. Those clips and in-person analysis are what we are going to dive into today and cover for this group of athletes. During this update we saw eight athletes make the move up to the rankings, and that includes a few athletes right towards the top of the Class. A big driver behind the move was our Midwest Director of Scouting who was able to scout Dorian in person. His rave reviews helped Dorian earn our new OL1 position. A position that he is equipped to hold for the foreseeable future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">The Fond du Lac product has rare physical gifts. He is already built like a prototypical OT with a 6'7" 280 lbs frame that also comes with an unbelievable 7' wingspan. What really separates Dorian from the crowd is how he already is able to move and carry that weight so effortlessly. He performed like a high level incoming senior this summer with his body control, balance, and raw power. His efforts and display of talent have already earned him an offer from the WI Badgers. We were able to watch him during the Prep Redzone WI Spring Showcase where the 6'3" 230 lbs edge defender was able to show that while raw, he was building the frame and technique to be a force on the edge by the time the season rolls around.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Length for the edge position is a must and Khaleb has no shortage of that. He was able to keep separation and then could show off his quick hands to clean away the hands of the OL. We saw that the was able to quickly dip and change pad level too making himself a hard target to stay square on. The quick feet and agility also helped make him a tough target to strike as well. The 2029 DB/WR made a lot of plays in zone coverage at CB. Between his closing speed, ball skills, and awareness/ability to bait the QB good things were happening. Every rep we see Caleb keep the receivers in front of him and then perfectly trigger that downhill burst to go make a play on the football. That speed and ball skills show up on offense too as he was able to stretch the field and get behind the defense in a hurry. The 2029 also has a couple older brothers. One who is playing college football currently, and one who is an incoming senior. He checks in at 5'11" 215 lbs and that stout frame has been key in helping him to set a strong edge. Alamo is a well trained defender, understanding how to take on blocks with proper leverage and not taking himself out of plays when left unblocked. He can stand up pulling linemen and still shed them to make the tackle after. There is some solid agility to his game as well as the ability to corral the ball carrier in space on the edge. The main reason he is ranked where he is currently is because of that 5'11" 175 lbs frame. For the edge position he will need to continue to grow and fill out, but the tools he currently is winning reps with haven't been hindered by his size. Blaze is a kid who has his game revolve around his athleticism. The first step gives him a huge head start vs the OL, and his ability to run tight paths to the ball plus his closing speed gives the QB such little time to get rid of the football. I was surprised to see that he was able to use his hands pretty well to get into the backfield as well. He doesn't need to win with his speed giving him a free rush. I'm excited to see how Blaze grows over his career. Ben excels at eating up space and absorbing multiple blockers. That massive frame is hard to move and it allows him LBs to flow freely behind him to collect tackles. The big man is a stout presence that LBs love to have in front of them. Dean also had his moments of being able to fight off blocks and make tackles vs the inside run game. This fall I want to see him improve his mobility at that size. The ILB has the frame at 6', but will need to continue to work to fill out that 160 lbs frame to eventually be a difference maker on Friday nights. Eesten does show the range necessary to be able to roam sideline to sideline, contribute on special teams, and also move through traffic efficiently. The clips show that he gets the ball back to his holder or punter on a rope. Most importantly, the location of his snaps is excellent and looks to arrive in a pretty tight spiral. On punt team the LS does seem to have some solid speed to be able to get downfield and be involved in the tackles as well. As far as specialists go, this is one of the first to stand out in this Class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
