That investment in the future gives Oak Hill a solid foundation to build from moving forward. Senior RB/LB Cade Compton gives the Red Devils a proven leader to lean on on both sides of the ball, while the younger players who gained valuable varsity experience last season should be ready for bigger responsibilities. Graduation and transfers leave several holes to fill, but Oak Hill has shown an ability to develop talent within the program. A team captain and two-way standout, Compton gives the Red Devils one of the top linebackers and running backs in Class AAAA after an All-State junior season that included more than 1,000 rushing yards. His leadership, toughness, and relentless style of play make him the heartbeat of the team, and he'll once again be leaned on heavily in all phases of the game.
