Underclassmen Report: TALENTED 2029s to Watch

Welcome back!   We're bringing you a new Underclassmen Report this morning, where we will watch and evaluate some of the early talent we've discovered across the state's 2029 class.   You'll want to stick around and see these guys film for yourselves. This group of prospects have already shown tons of potential in their early high school careers!    [player_tooltip player_id='2106031' first='Keston' last='Betts'] is a dominant defender from Monroe County who found a ton of success in his freshman season.   "Betts is an impressive run defender up front who explodes off the snap and has the speed, power, and hands to fly by blockers and meet the ball carrier. He's physical, and plays with a ton of effort in the trenches, constantly coming up with stops at or behind the line.   Betts really impresses me with his awareness, pursuit, and closing speed. He always knows where the ball is, and can cover ground quickly to create pressure, TFLs, and stops all over the field. I think he's going to have a great career at Monroe- there's a ton to like with his game."   I really look forward to Betts second year. I think he has a ton of potential and has shown a lot of great things in his film already. Take a look below:      [player_tooltip player_id='2225361' first='Walter' last='Lett'] is an up-and-coming DB from Monroe County who could have a breakout year ahead this fall.   "Lett is quick, highly reactive, and can fly in to create pass breakups and INTs. He has great ball skills and timing, is talented in coverage, and consistently sticks with receivers downfield and creates clutch plays on the ball   The early tape that Lett has out is really impressive. He's a prospect we'll all need to keep a close eye on in 2026."   Make sure you check out this film from last fall where Lett pulled in two INTs against Bayside Academy. "[player_tooltip player_id='2225370' first='LaMarrion' last='Arnold'] is a dominant threat out of the backfield who hurts defenses with his size, speed, and contact balance every single carry. He stands tall in the backfield, can quickly find lanes to take the ball through, and explodes upfield for huge gains on the ground. He's tough to bring down, his size and ability to play low allow him to step out of and truck through tacklers.   Arnold also has some skills as a receiving threat. He has reliable hands and skills after the catch that completely separate him from opposing defenses. I really look forward to his future. I think he'll be a big name in the class of '29."   It's clear that Arnold has the talent to be a center piece of what Escambia does offensively the next few years. "Morris is a really intelligent passer. He sees the field really well, can manage the pocket, and does a great job getting the ball out on time and on target to his receivers. He has a strong arm, and really impressive accuracy on his passes downfield, placing the ball only where his teammates can haul it in.   I think the most impressive part of Morris' early tape is seeing how well he dissects defenses. He finds open receivers regardless of if he's under pressure or not, and is a confident passer who. always seems to make the best read to move the chains."   Morris has a huge sophomore year ahead this upcoming fall. Be sure to take a look at what he did this past season, he'll be a name to watch.      [player_tooltip player_id='2225385' first='Land' last='Sharpless'] is a talented ATH who found success on both sides of the ball for Trinity Presbyterian.   "Sharpless is an impressive passer with a ton of arm talent. He has impressive arm strength, great accuracy and touch on his passes, and has shown the ability to attack each layer of the field. I'm really impressed with how he took care of the ball in his first season- he does a great job finding open targets and exploiting defenses weaknesses as a passer.   Sharpless is also a dynamic threat with his skills as a rusher. He's quick, can change his direction, and is a tough runner that defenses = struggle to take down in the open field.   It's crazy to say but Sharpless even found some success at DB last season by bringing in an awesome pick six. Overall, he's a seriously talented '29 with a bright future ahead. We all need to watch out for him."   Sharpless was incredibly productive in his first season.
