Uncommitted Upside Seniors in Iowa

Twelve different guys have verbally committed to Power 4 programs. Quite a few others have pledged to FBS and FCS schools.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Even with those sizable numbers, a lot of talent from the state for the cycle remains in the board. He impacted the action on offense, defense and special teams as a MOC-Floyd Valley junior in 2025. He flashes upside as a receiver, defensive back and return man, some of which we see during his <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19855039/6917ce0b1e12c59908cc7546" id="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19855039/6917ce0b1e12c59908cc7546">11th-grade highlight video</a>. His athleticism was apparent when he qualified for the Drake Relays in the long jump.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Drake became the first D-I school to show its belief in Van Zee by offering a scholarship on Monday. He camped with the Bulldogs and South Dakota State this month. Southwest Minnesota State offered a scholarship in early June.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1621055' first='Tay' last='Seals'], WR, Clear Creek Amana</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Announced offers:&nbsp;</strong>Minnesota-Mankato.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>The Situation:</strong> I saw Seals play in person during the season. He struck me as a prospect capable of delivering big plays as a receiver and a return man. He went on to win the state championship in the 110 meter high hurdles and qualified for the state track meet in four events. Iowa State, Texas Tech and others are involved with him in that sport. While he might end up running track in college, he's a good football player whose speed and athleticism is worth developing in that sport.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Minnesota-Mankato finally saw that and offered him a scholarship last month. Stay to see it repeated. Perry is a well-rounded running back just as likely to run over defenders as he is to run away from them. His frame can comfortably add mass and strength without the loss of speed and quickness. The traits that make him an effective running back also would work on defense. He'd be a special teams' asset early in his college career. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Central College played host to Ouahbi for a junior day in April. That's the only college interest he's reported, which seems kind of puzzling considering the ability.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2089755' first='Broc' last='Wilken'], QB/ATH, Ridge View</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Announced offers:&nbsp;</strong>None.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>The Situation:</strong> Wilken is an interesting quarterback prospect as we can witness when watching his <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/20007851/69222dae535a35ca251dfe08" id="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/20007851/69222dae535a35ca251dfe08">junior highlight video</a> from 2025. He possesses a strong arm and a good feel for putting the right amount of air under the ball. Wilken is a good athlete that can beat defenses with his legs whether he's scrambling to deliver a pass or tucking the pigskin and picked up ground yards. That athleticism would make a position switch a likely path if development behind center stalls.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Northwestern College played host to Wilken for a junior day in February. He's also been in contact with Simpson, Central, Morningside, Grand View, Buena Vista and others. An opportunity given to Wilken could pay off for a college recognizing the upside. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2090466' first='Daxton' last='Heimbaugh'], RB/DB, Indianola</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Announced offers:&nbsp;</strong>None.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>The Situation:</strong> Heimbaugh shined as an Indianola junior in 2025, rushing for 717 yards (6.0 YPC) and five touchdowns. He caught seven passes, returned punts and punted 19 times. That versatility stems from the athleticism, speed and agility that make him him an interesting running back prospect and also someone that could end up on defense. Special teams also are an area where Heimbaugh's talents could be put to good use.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dordt offered Heimbaugh an opportunity in May.
