The UA Next Camp in Chicago was a great opportunity to evaluate some of the top prospects in the Midwest with our focus particularly on Illinois. We were able to see the passing drills along with one on ones between pass catchers and defensive backs. Here I examine what caught our attention from the Illinois 2028 and 2029 Pass Catchers at the camp!

[player_tooltip player_id='974585' first='Jordan' last='McKinley'] (Loyola – 2028)

McKinley is a jumbo wide receiver/tight end that has future pro written all over him! At 6'3” 215 pounds he is MASSIVE! Moves so well for his size too! Snatches catches out in front of him. Technically sound on shorter routes for a big guy. Crisp route runner that creates separation and can go up and win any 50/50 ball. Adjusts to the rock in the air tracking it and bringing them in over his shoulder with ease. No matter where the ball is thrown he has a chance to bring it in because of his size, skill, and elite athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='2219344' first='Mark' last='Williams'] (Naperville Central – 2028)

Really liked what we saw out of the 6'0” 165 pound wide receiver. Silky smooth double move juking defensive back over the middle making catch in endzone. Smooth blow by ability. Also won on an out and up move getting by the DB for an acrobatic score. Quick cuts on short catches as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1683691' first='Kenny' last='Bratton'] (Centralia – 2028)

Bratton is among the elite pass catchers in the 2028 class in Illinois. Super fluid through the gauntlet drill. Wiry and electric athlete is such a natural plucking the ball out of the air. Makes everything he does look easy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1624418' first='Jaxon' last='Saint Paul'] (Hersey – 2028)

The 6'3” wide receiver definitely helped his stock with a strong day of work at the UA Next Camp! The size, lanky frame, and long strides are a dangerous combination! Crisp getting in and out his cuts on shorter routes and can change directions on a dime on deep routes. Has a frame he will be able to add strength on. Covers a ton of ground with his long strides and tracks it well in the air downfield. Has the potential to be a possession guy over the middle using leverage along with a vertical guy with his speed and tracking. Plucks everything out in front of him with his natural hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='2173722' first='Jalonny' last='Billingsley'] (Simeon – 2029)

Billingsley is looking like a top 10 prospect in both basketball and football. His ability to snatch balls out of the air consistently stood out to us. Fluid athlete that is HUGE at 6'4” 180 pounds. Super wide catch radius with freakish athleticism. Could grow into a jumbo tight end down the line.
