UA Next Camp: Trio of Illinois 2027 Linebackers Make Statement

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>***Use Code “ScottyB30” for 30% off your subscription***</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The UA Next Camp in Chicago was a great opportunity to evaluate some of the top prospects in the Midwest with our focus particularly on Illinois.&nbsp; We were able to see the running backs go head to head against linebackers in one on one drills.&nbsp; Here I examine what caught our attention from the linebackers at the camp!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1570769' first='Matthew' last='Schlenhardt'] (Maine South – 2027)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Outstanding performance from the Maine South linebacker!&nbsp; Measured in at 6'0” and 206 pounds.&nbsp; He ran a 4.67 40 yard dash along with a 4.47 shuttle.&nbsp; 29.3” vertical jump as well.&nbsp; That translated on the field with his ability to read backs and what they were going to do.&nbsp; Coverage on intermediate routes was excellent including jumping in front of one pass batting it down.&nbsp; Ran well with backs down field making it tough for them to make the catch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='607399' first='Matthew' last='Brady'] (Bloomington Central Catholic – 2027)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brady has been one of the largest stock risers over the last couple of months and will see a big bump in our next rankings update.&nbsp; Closed on pass catchers with his anticipation and did a nice job running with them downfield.&nbsp; He is down to a final four of Illinois, Michigan State, Nebraska, and Minnesota.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2045496' first='Will' last='Mettee'] (Loyola – 2027)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Boston College commit took home MVP honors at the linebacker position.&nbsp; Checked in at 6'1” and 216 pounds.&nbsp; Ran well with a 4.59 forty time along with a 4.52 shuttle and 111.9” broad jump.&nbsp; Great instincts and is a true football player that just does everything right!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
