It has already been a busy month of camp showcasing as a host of schools front-end loaded the month to make sure and catch the initial surge of ballers ready to compete.

As we move into mid-month the frantic pace has slowed somewhat, with only two major camps scheduled for this week: today in Manhattan for the K-State camp and then this coming Wednesday when Lawrence plays host for the KU camp.

Getting to this point it has been fast and furious with most camps reporting standout attendance and performances.

In this report we are taking a look at the guys in the trenches on both sides of the ball and check in on how their off-season training is going, with an emphasis on how they have done competing in camps through the first two weeks of June.

So, without further adieu, let's check these guys out:

[player_tooltip player_id='1923949' first='Mitchell' last='Frank'] , 6'3, 230, Edge/LB, Bishop Carroll, '27, after a breakout junior season as a ball-buster Edge/OLB with 52 tackles, 17 TFL, 7 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and a pair of blocked punts, he has parlayed that into a strong off-season. Most recently, he dominated at the William Jewell camp, when he had the top 40 (4.7), vertical (33") and broad jump (9'11") among all d-linemen. His schedule continues to heat up from here as he is at K-State today, KU on 6/17, Oklahoma State on 6/21 and Missouri Western on 6/27. With good length, burst and explosiveness he can bend and burn coming off the edge getting to the QB or use his physicality and power to bull-rush over the top of blockers. This summer he is training with teammates as well as optimizing his game with Coach Tabor and PIA. With offers from Washburn and Jewell in hand he is continuing to draw interest putting his next-level measurables on display this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2063120' first='Alex' last='Bart'], 6'5, 235, Edge/OL, Lawrence, '27, after a strong junior season when he was forced to play numerous positions up and down the line of scrimmage due to injuries and depth issues, he is heading into his senior year back in familiar territory playing the Edge and then at tackle on the other side of the ball. Even with playing the different positions he continued to be a force in the trenches, with 52 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and added a pair of sacks. As a defensive end/edge, he has ideal size, length and physicality, and is starting to draw interest with offers from Benedictine and junior colleges Butler and Dodge City so far. He has also been on the road hitting the camp circuit and is returning from Lindenwood and Colorado State earlier in June and will be at the KU camp this Wednesday. In between camp trips he has been training with his teammates and fine-tuning his game for a big season this fall.

Steven Cantrell, 6'4, 275, DL, Washburn Rural, '27, it has been a busy off-season for this senior who just wrapped up track and has been grinding since early in the year training with teammates in the weight room and working on explosiveness. He has also been training with @TopSpeedLLC focusing on overall speed and cardio, and trench trainer @coachjeddy_DL for defensive positional work. He has also started hitting camps and recently had a solid performance at the KU camp earlier in the month and is on hand today in Manhattan at the K-State camp. His efforts are already reaping dividends as he has offers from Washburn and Missouri Western and is building significant interest. With ideal size (6'4 275), length (77" wing span), explosiveness (9'6" broad jump) and first-step quickness he projects well as a next-level anchor along the defensive front. After a junior year when he had 40+ tackles and four sacks in eight games and a strong off-season this guy is going to dominate this fall.

Harrison Moody, 6'2, 295, OL/DL, Andover Central, '27, it has been a whirlwind off-season for this senior trench warrior who will line up for the Jags this fall after transferring from Christ's Church Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was a two-way starter at OL/DL and a team captain. Once the season was over he committed to workouts six days a week and the work paid off as he went to state in power lifting, setting PRs in all the key lifts along the way. Before he started working with local standout trainer Coach Tabor and PIA, he was working footwork and hand placement drills as well as fine-tuning pass pro technique with trainers in Florida. He recently had a strong showing at the Washburn camp and has targeted additional camps at Emporia State, Pitt State, Air Force, and Friends this summer. He is also spending time getting to know his new teammates and training in the AC off-season program. This guy is ready for a huge season this fall.

Demetris Morgan, 6'1, 245, DE/Edge, Olathe North, '27, and last but certainly not least we have another defensive end/edge rusher coming off a good junior year when he piled up 32 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks and 9 QB pressures. He is a versatile trench warrior who has the size, strength and physicality to slide down and blow up the run game as a defensive tackle, or stretch wide and shut off the perimeter on the edge. With an all-new coaching staff this year, his versatility and high-IQ game will be an asset. This summer he has been training hard in the weight room and doing speedwork with his teammates as well as fine-tuning his game with trainer @coachbcain_. He is also getting ready to ramp it up on the camp circuit, as he is just returning from performing well at Pitt State and then later this month will travel to Emporia, Mid-America Nazarene and Missouri S&T. This guy has been flying under the radar somewhat but is going to change that this fall with a big season.
