As summer draws nearer, so does the 2026 football season.

Over the upcoming weeks, teams all over South Carolina will continue to round into shape for the upcoming season. As spring practices conclude, we can make our predictions about each team's probable 2026 MVP.

Region VI-2A has a ton of candidates, but here are six players who are likely to lead their teams this season.

DILLON WILDCATS

[player_tooltip player_id='1823085' first='Noah' last='Singletary'] RB, 2027

Singletary made some waves last season with 418 rushing yard and seven touchdowns on the ground. He is expected to be the main back this season for the Wildcats, which means plenty of opportunities to rack up stats in Dillon's ground-oriented offense. With the Wildcats breaking in a new quarterback, Dillon will be fortunate to be able to hand the ball to runner who averaged almost nine yards per carry last season.

EAST CLARENDON WOLVERINES

[player_tooltip player_id='2106756' first='Skyler' last='Cornelius'] RB/DB, 2029

He's not the biggest player on the field, but Cornelius may be the most explosive on any field he steps on. Don't be surprised if the Wolverines put him at multiple positions throughout the season, as Cornelius made plays all over the field last season, scoring double-digit touchdowns, rushing for over 750 yards and recording multiple interceptions. The rising sophomore was an all-region performer on both sides of the ball last year and should be even better in his second season of varsity action.

LAKE CITY PANTHERS

[player_tooltip player_id='1825312' first='Ziyre' last='McFadden'] DB/WR, 2029

McFadden is a rising sophomore who is a tremendous threat on the perimeter on both sides of the ball. However, his production on defense is what really stands out. As a freshman, McFadden intercepted five passes for the Panther defense while also tallying 39 tackles and five pass breakups. With great tackling skills and an ability to ball hawk with the best of them, don't be surprised if McFadden is once again one of Lake City's most productive defenders.

MANNING MONARCHS

[player_tooltip player_id='1820895' first='CJ' last='Robinson'] ATH, 2027

Robinson was a dynamic playmaker as a receiver, returner, and defensive back for Manning as a junior, racking up 1,183 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns. He was the Monarchs' clear-cut main target on offense, accounting for 59 percent of Manning's receptions, 68 percent of the team's receiving yards, and a mind-blowing 87 percent of the Monarchs' receiving touchdowns. Add in his 44 tackles, two interceptions, six pass breakups, and two blocked kicks and it's clear to see why he will have the full attention of every team on Manning's schedule this fall.

MARLBORO COUNTY BULLDOGS

[player_tooltip player_id='905534' first='Jaden' last='Ashe'] DL, 2027 (pictured)

Marlboro County may have the state's best defensive line in 2026 and Ashe is a massive piece of that unit. The rising senior posted 12.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and 48 total tackles last season. Teams can't just double and triple-team Ashe, however, because [player_tooltip player_id='651061' first='Patrick' last='Williams'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1422580' first='Kaiden' last='Walton'] will feast. The Bulldog defense will be a problem throughout the season and Ashe is likely to lead the hunt.

WACCAMAW WARRIORS

[player_tooltip player_id='1667256' first='Ben' last='King'] LB/TE, 2027

King is a powerful outside linebacker for the Warriors who lived in opponents' backfields last season and can also drop down into a stance and take on offensive lineman. He's also capable of dropping into coverage and has active hands in pass defense. His ability as a linebacker would be enough to keep an eye on him during Waccamaw's upcoming season, but King is also a capable pass-catcher as a tight end. Put all these skills together and King will be integral to the Warriors' 2026 success.
