Northwest’s new offers, camp standouts: QBs and RBs

While the football season came to an end in December, the spring and summer months have provided the nation's high school football prospects an opportunity to raise their stock and improve their offer sheets at various camps.   In the Northwest, dozens of players have seen their profile elevate through those means.   Here's a look at quarterback and running back who have either had standup performances or who have added significantly to their offer sheets in the past few months.   Prep Redzone will be doing a massive update of its rankings in July and many of these names will be on the rise.   Quarterbacks    [player_tooltip player_id='904208' first='Zeke' last='Thomas'], Willamette (2028) — Thomas has separated himself from the pack as the clear-cut top quarterback in Oregon.   The Boise State commit recently picked up an offer from Oregon State and simply looks like a Power 4-calber quarterback.   The 6-foot, 195-pound signal-caller has really filled out his frame and continues to be a standout every time we see him.   Thomas is a good one, and may end up with historic numbers by the time his 4 years starting for Willamette comes to an end.    [player_tooltip player_id='1613160' first='Brady' last='Bonnell'], Tahoma (2028) — The newly-minted Rivals three-star quarterback has been one of Prep Redzone's favorite “under the radar” players in Washington for some time.   In early May, he picked up an offer from Idaho, and could see multiple Big Sky offers come his way over the next six months.   His rising up boards.    [player_tooltip player_id='1257695' first='Emmit' last='Distefano'], Thurston (2027) — The muscled-up 6-foot, 200-pound quarterback won MVP at the Prep Redzone Exposure Series ahead of all-state guys and recently added offers from Pacific and Lewis and Clark.   Not every player is a D1 recruit, but that doesn't mean they can't be a major standout at events.   Distenfao has raised his stock over the past few months and could see his stock uptick another round with a big start to his senior campaign.    [player_tooltip player_id='1557937' first='Jadis' last='Lefono'], Lakes (2029) —The battle for the top Washington quarterback in 2029 is going to be a fierce one - with a few different candidates in the mix.   Lefono already holds an offer from San Diego State and he picked up an MVP award this summer at the Max Xposure Camp.    [player_tooltip player_id='1906030' first='Drew' last='Sorensen'], Archbishop Murphy (2029) — The 6-foot-3, 192-pound signal-caller has been all over the camp circuit and performed well.   While there's still a lot of growth in any 2029 prospect, Sorensen was an all-conference selection and could see his numbers skyrocket this fall.    [player_tooltip player_id='860650' first='Jack' last='Wilson'], Jesuit (2027) — The 6-foot-2, 170-pound signal-caller has played for a Jesuit program that is known for its offensive line and the running game.   But under new guidance we may see the offense open it up a bit more.   That could be very good news for Wilson and for them, as he has been a standout in multiple camp appearances - and it's starting to show in his recruitment.   Wilson has added offers from Lewis and Clark and Pacific, and could see his stock raise another level in the coming months.    [player_tooltip player_id='2105974' first='Kai' last='Boatsman'], Sherwood (2028) — The class of 2028 quarterback picked up an early offer from Linfield and has looked like a raw quarterback with big upside all spring/summer.   The 6-foot-5, 190-pound signal-caller flashed big potential in five games last season, but has looked like a potential star this camp circuit.    Boatsman is going to make a big leap in our updated rankings, as he's gone from intriguing mid-season quarterback to certified prospect.    Running backs   [player_tooltip player_id='1335521' first='RJ' last='Ward'], Bellevue (2028) — During the camp season, Ward picked up offers from Arizona and Washington State to go along with Boise State, Colorado State, Idaho and others.   The 6-foot-1, 205-pound bruiser has seen his stock elevate over the past few months, and it would not be a shock to see him climb up another level as he continues his development.   Ward has been red-hot of late.    [player_tooltip player_id='1338069' first='Chrystian' last='Ervin'], O'Dea (2028) — The 5-foot-10, 205-pound ball-carrier had a solid spring season for FSP had solid camp showings despite being the kid of back who does his best work in pads.   Ervin recently picked up a massive offer from Kansas State, putting him on the map as a Power 4 recruit.   The 2028 should do some big things this fall.    [player_tooltip player_id='1125493' first='Reece' last='Ballew'], Mountainside (2027) — Stop me if you've heard this before: Ballew looks like Oregon's biggest unheralded star.   His sophomore campaign put him firmly on Prep Redzone's radar and we were eager to see his junior campaign, but he missed the year due to injury.   Fully healthy, Ballew picked up a pair of PRZ RB camp MVP awards and ran a jaw-dropping 10.76 100-meter time in track this fall.   Ballew has a few small school offers, but could generate FCS interest when he on-field tape matches the offseason work.   He's been sensational, and could be a 2,000-yard back this fall.    [player_tooltip player_id='937241' first='Cole' last='Hachmeister'], Tualatin (2027) — The 10.8 100 runner was injured for some of last season but played like a first-team all-state do-it-all offensive weapon when healthy.   He's added offers from Western Kentucky and Portland State and was the Northwest Showcase RB MVP.   Hachmeister is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the entire state of Oregon, and will absolutely put on a show this fall.   Remember, he scored 9 touchdowns in five games last season and averaged nearly a first down every carry (9.2 yards).   [player_tooltip player_id='1924374' first='Zuzi' last='Alwineyan'], Willamette (2027); [player_tooltip player_id='2127746' first='Jonny' last='Jenkins'], Willamette (2029) — An injury last year forced Zuzi and Jonny into a more featured role than anticipated, but they both excelled.   Alwineyan has picked up a handful of small school offers, but he might not be RB1 this fall.   The hype for Jenkins is extremely loud right now, and both could be 1,000-yard rushers this fall.   It's impressive that Zuzi has been a force this camp circuit and he's still having to fight off a sophomore for the starting role.   Both could be all-state featured backs if they carried the entire load, but as is should be one of the best 1-2 punches in the entire state.   Pair them with quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='904208' first='Zeke' last='Thomas'], and Willamette has the state's best backfield… period!
