The Northwest Showcase proved, once again, that it is among the top mega-camps in the entire West region.

More than 700 athltes descended on Western Oregon University to showcase their talents in a 5-session, 10-hour camp that led to more than a dozen scholarship offers and countless invites to attend camps or games.

All week, Prep Redzone will be breaking down the top performers, biggest breakouts and potential sleepers position-by-position. A big rankings update for Oregon and Washington is coming in July and we'll spend this week highlighting some of the campers who will see their stock rise significantly with that update.

The first day of coverage, however, is dedicated to MVPs.

Here's a look at the Session 1 and 2 MVP performers:

Session 1

Overall MVP: OL [player_tooltip player_id='2065191' first='JayLinn' last='Haywood'], 2027, Kennedy Catholic (Wash.) — The 6-foot-3, 306-pound offensive lineman had a dominant day from start to finish and picked up a couple of offers in the process.

Haywood is one of the best interior offensive linemen in the state of Washington.

RB MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='2213886' first='Kalama' last='Roberson'], 2028, Walla Walla (Wash.) — It was a tight race at the running back position - with Camas star [player_tooltip player_id='635258' first='Thor' last='Brody'] also firmly in the mix - but won the majority vote and earned the MVP award.

The 2028 three-star sport athlete is looking for his first offer, and it should come soon.

LB MVP: Jerrek Buckley, 2027, Rohnert Park (Calif.) — Padless camps can be difficult for big-bodied, bruising linebackers, but that's what made Buckley's day stand out.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound athlete looks smooth in coverage, and has already shown he can lay a big hit in pads (145 tackles last season).

Big Sky programs have been in to see him all spring, and it seems like only a matter of time before he starts stacking those offers.

DL MVP: Iyan Boskett, 2027, Pahrump (Nev.) — It has been a stellar week for the 6-foot-4, 216-pound edge, as he picked up offers from Idaho State and Portland State at the camp, and also recently added offers from San Diego State and Sacramento State.

Boskett proved to be a tough one-on-one match-ups all session for the talented offensive line group.

Session 2 (OL/DL, RB/LB)

Overall MVP: RB James Curoso, 2028, Clovis (Calif.) — One of the top players at the camp overall, Curoso already holds offers from Cal Oregon, Oregon State, Utah and Washington.

So, the 5-foot-10, 200-pound back came in with plenty of hype.

He delivered, jumping over a defender in one-on-one drills for a score.

RB MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='937241' first='Cole' last='Hachmeister'], Tualatin (Ore.) — Unsurprisingly, one of the fastest kids in the state proved to be un-coverable by linebackers in one-on-one situations.

Hachmeister, a running back/slot, is one of the most dangerous playmakers in the entire state and should put together a first-team all-state all-purpose-type performance this fall.

Tualatin is on the rise and could be a legit state title contender as soon as this fall.

RB MVP: Andre Gastelum, 2028, Chico (Calif.) — The 6-foot-1, 190-pound two-way playmaker was another back who proved difficult to cover in space.

Gastelum was really impressive on the day.

LB MVP: Jayden King, 2027, Bullard (Calif.) — The 6-foot-2, 210-pound fluid athlete was excellent in coverage and didn't seem overwhelmed by the top running backs.

King should be getting a lot more attention on the recruiting trail.

OL MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1609771' first='Peter' last='Stanley'], 2028, Summit (Ore.) — A Central Oregon kid is always going to warrant interest from evaluators, because people don't get to see him “good vs. good” very often on tape.

Stanley lived up to the hype and earned an MVP award.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound offensive lineman has an early offer from Cal and will almost certainly be a double-digit offer guy by the time his recruitment ends.

OL MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1397350' first='Xavier' last='Berry'], 2029, Federal Way (Wash.) — The 6-foot-7, 270-pound offensive tackle still looks like he could comfortably add 30-40 pounds to his frame.

And he has plenty of time to do that.

But he had a dominant day - and we'd expect nothing less from him.

Berry is one of the top prospects on the West Coast in the class of 2029 and already holds offers from Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA and others.

DL MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='937240' first='Isaiah' last='Ormond'], 2027, Tualatin (Ore.) — You're D1 now, Zay.

Recent Tualatin transfer [player_tooltip player_id='937240' first='Isaiah' last='Ormond'] probably made the biggest leap of any prospect in the first two sessions.

A relative unknown to some on the recruiting trail, Jordan Johnson and defensive line coach Caleb Wells have been talking about Ormond as a big-time player to watch late in the process.

Safe to say they were right.

Ormond was absolutely unstoppable as a defensive tackle in one-one-ones during the camp, and immediately added offers from Portland State - with invites to visit a couple of other Division I schools.

He's the real deal, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him add an Oregon State offer by the time Signing Day rolls around.

His stock is red hot!

The Northwest Showcase proved, once again, that it is among the top mega-camps in the entire West region.
