On Saturday, May 2, 2026 I was invited out by You Are Athlete to cover their annual Regional Exposure Camp for the third consecutive year. This year's event was hosted by Piscataway High School and was, in my experience, their best yet. Featuring the best crop of talent I have seen out of their events yet, it was extremely well ran and plenty of reps to be had.

Below are my notes for a handful of prospects at the position group I referenced in this article's title.

[player_tooltip player_id='2091762' first='Justin' last='Amato'], a local Hillsborough product, might be a rolled down safety or someone playing closer in the box. I noticed during indy that his hips opened up when weaving. Without a good look at him competing and merely judging Amato on indy, loosening his hips will sure him up to play secondary.

I liked a lot of what I saw [player_tooltip player_id='1702286' first='Zachariah' last='Waller'] do. Waller was extremely intentional with his hips, displaying discipline before opening, turning, and running. Moreover, and perhaps better than anyone else I observed, he maintains a low pad level and covered a tremendous amount of ground while doing so.

There was some good indicators and some indicators where [player_tooltip player_id='2176146' first='Dylan' last='Umana'] needs to continue to grow. Umana matched the hands of his assigned matchup well when covering man' however, playing with lower pad level, and thus a better base, will enable him to play with more body control.

Two prospects I was unable to source were defensive back #66 and Kharter Johnson. Starting with Johnson, he was a big bodied defensive back that showed a burst at times when turning. He also kept his eyes on the hips of his opponent, not getting faked out despite receivers' best efforts. I thought that he needed to bend at his hips more and played a bit too high. Between those two observations, I thought that he struggled to run with certain matchups... Regarding the defensive back prospect wearing #66, I pegged him as a prospect who could be sneaky-good. During indy his hips pleasantly surprised me; however, his eyes are still a bit too raw. He bit hard, perhaps more than he could chew, on an out-and-up fake. At some point when defending in close proximity, he needs to get his eyes back to the quarterback at some point.
