Camping Season: WNMU Extends Myriad Offers Following ABQ Camp

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>ALBUQUERQUE</strong> – The Western New Mexico coaches were in a cheerful and giving mood Saturday afternoon following the Mustangs' annual camp at La Cueva High School.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>WNMU handed out 15 known offers following the three-hour camp at La Cueva High School on a sun-splashed afternoon in the Duke City.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Among the three Division II schools in the state, WNMU is the only one holding a camp in Albuquerque this year. As a result, the camp was well attended with nearly 60 prospects showing up to compete. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Many of the players offered Saturday received their first offer. Others got their second offer in less than 24 hours as they were previously offered by New Mexico Highlands on Friday night following the Cowboys' camp at Ivan Head Stadium in Santa Fe.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Saturday marked the eighth stop on WNMU's 10-camp tour through California, Arizona and New Mexico. The Mustangs hosted a rain-shortened camp Wednesday night at Las Cruces High School. WNMU's third and final camp in New Mexico before the kickoff of the 2026 season will be July 19 from 2-5 p.m. in Silver City.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>WNMU opens the 2026 season with an Aug. 27 road game at Adams State.
