5 Fast-Rising 2029 Recruits

One thing I've learned from covering high school and college football over the years is that while college teams are hesitant to offer rising freshmen, they love to offer rising sophomores. Accordingly, we often rank the freshman class before they receive offers. In the summer between freshman and sophomore year, though, we typically see a slew of offers go out to that class. The 2029 class is no exception, and here we're evaluating five 2029 players who have seen their recruitments take off this summer.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Five 2029s Who Are Hot on the Recruiting Trail</h2>   [player_tooltip player_id='2003853' first='Kaiden' last='Okam'] | Edge/DL | Mallard Creek   Okam was our <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/06/behind-the-scenes-of-the-2029-rankings-spring/">biggest mover</a> in the latest <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/06/updated-2029-north-carolina-rankings/">2029 rankings update</a>. It's not just that he's racking up offers left and right. That happens all the time (there are five players here, plus several more who could say the same). The more impressive thing is that I've gotten multiple unprompted texts from media members and coaches in attendance who have told me specifically how impressive Okam was at their camp. Expect him to continue to turn heads.   [player_tooltip player_id='1631133' first='Shiloh' last='Graham'] | DB | Mallard Creek   It was only a matter of time before Graham got hot on the recruiting trail, and it appears that a recent South Carolina offer has opened the floodgates. In the 24 hours immediately following his camp with the Gamecocks, he received two other FBS offers, and they certainly won't be the last. He has the length, speed, and early production to be a popular recruit.   [player_tooltip player_id='2072220' first='Amir' last='Daniels'] | OL | Millbrook   Daniels hit our radar midseason as he started at right tackle for the 8A runners-up. He may end up as an interior lineman, and since January, he's on a scorcher on the recruiting trail. He's picked up 17 offers, the latest from powerhouses Alabama and Ohio State. The No. 2 overall player in our rankings, Daniels is an elite prospect with plenty of time to continue to grow.   [player_tooltip player_id='1853129' first='Derek' last='Monroe'] | Ath./WR | Green Level   Monroe has been on our radar since he returned a punt for a touchdown in his varsity debut. His size, speed, and versatility have led to a hot summer on the trail. One Group of Five recruiter told me, "We'll offer him, but he's above our level." Accordingly, expect the offers to continue to roll in as he gets out to camps and showcases his elite athleticism.   [player_tooltip player_id='1114103' first='Jymel' last='Green'] | DB | Chambers   Chambers' coaching staff knows a thing or two about developing young defensive backs, and they've brought Green along slowly. There's no question about his talent, though, and after a couple of early offers last year, he's blown up on the recruiting trail this offseason. Expect to see him out wide on the varsity team this fall. Given his length, speed, and ball skills, we fully expect him to have a huge sophomore year on the field.
