7v7's, combines, and showcases are moving ahead at full force right now, with athletes at every position showing why they should be regarded as some of the best in the region. Over the last few weekends we've had the PRZ 7v7s, UANext, and many others giving prospects the opportunity to show off their skills. Diving into X, you will find highlights from players that need to be emphasized. Here are some of the best highlights from this week of events and competitions.

Sawyer Jones has been on my radar quite a while. An athlete in the truest sense, I have seen highlights of Sawyer playing nearly every position at this point, excelling at each of them. Listed as a 6'2" linebacker, Here we get a glimpse of Sawyer on the opposite side of the ball as a receiving threat. What stands out from this clip is Sawyer's quickness out of his break, speed you wouldn't expect for a kid his size. Where I think Sawyer can really flourish is in the contested catch situation. With his bigger frame, longer arms, and physicality, Sawyer can box out defenders and come down with the ball, giving his QB confidence as a red zone threat.

Competing at the UANext Camp this past weekend, Rahmir Rivera once again gave us a reason to believe he is one of the top NJ QB prospects coming out of the 2029 class. Another player I have been aware for a while, the Red Bank Catholic QB has hit a growth spurt since the last time I saw him on the field. While the clips aren't available yet, scrolling a little further down Rahmir's X reveals a host of highlights and offseason work to take a look at. I am really impressed with Rahmir's release speed and the whip he can create in his throws. His hip movement is fluid and allows him to finish the throw with power behind the ball to zip it in. Rahmir turned heads at the recent PRZ Garden State Gridiron 7v7, coming away from the tournament solidifying himself as one of the best QBs in the region.

[player_tooltip player_id='1638744' first='Looch' last='Tarone'] 2030 QB Bergen Catholic

I got the chance to see Looch Tarone a few weeks back at the Garden State Gridiron 7v7 and I was thoroughly impressed with what Looch and Dreamchasers 15u were able to achieve. The team as a whole had chemistry on offense that only so many other teams had. A lot of that has to do with the man commanding the offense, the quarterback. The Bergen Catholic QB really shined the second day of competition. Here we get the chance to see Looch let the ball rip at multiple levels. Well placed balls deep downfield, Looch was able to pick defenses apart at will. Walking away from the 7v7, I was impressed with Looch's arm strength, composure, and ability to sneak the ball into tight windows.

Talib Nartey 2030 QB Horace Mann School

Talib is another well known QB in the PRZ Next world. A player that balls out at every event he attends, Talib once again proved why he is a prospect to get familiar with if you haven't already. Across the weekend Talib showed attributes you don't often see in quarterbacks his age. He consistently threw the ball with precision, keeping it out of harms way, and threw the ball with great timing. You could tell Talib and his receivers have things dialed in because as soon as they looked back for the ball Talib was rocketing it in. While his arm capabilities are top notch, what impressed me further is Talib's reading of the defense. With a high football IQ, you could tell Talib had a thorough understanding of the coverages and was able to expose the defense by finding weak spots in the coverage.

Donnis Sloan 2030 DB Roman Catholic

One of the top 2030 defensive back prospects in the region, Donnis Sloan continues to impress as his squad ran the table and won their most recent tournament. Donnis' highlights speak for them self. Very sticky in coverage, even when the play was extended Donnis was locked to the hip of the receiver, never giving them an inch, and came down with a high pointed interception towards the back of the end zone. His ability to mirror receivers made it extremely challenging for the receiver to find any daylight down field. He has very fluid hip movement and feet that never stop moving, making it easy for him to stay locked in on the receiver and shut them down for the day.
