Who to Look for on the Upcoming Camp Circuit

With collegiate camp season upcoming it's always interesting to project out on who might be adding offers in the coming weeks & months. There are multiple events during June with the Northwest Showcase at Western Oregon being the largest camp of its kind on the West Coast. Last year there were individuals from 30 different states that were represented.    We won't talk on all of the athletes but have a look at a few of the region's best who will be in attendance..          Boise St commit Zeke Thomas and Summit offensive tackle Peter Stanley are ranked two of Oregon's top three recruits for the 2028 class, with the big man from Bend holding offers from the likes of Cal and Oregon St. Look for each to garner significant attention from the universities and be in the MVP conversation at the event.    6-5 235-pound 2027 TE George VanSandt recently committed to Arkansas and has blown up as much an anybody in recent months. I personally like 6-5 210-pound 2028 Tight End/D End Brady Knips to walk away with a handful of offers and possibly be the talk of the camp. It's not a matter of if but when as he will be a major D1 recruit.    Tripp Johansen of Willamette HS is another standout you have to like. His combination of academic prowess, and a nonstop motor from his D end spot, have multiple Ivy League institutions and Big Sky schools such as Idaho and Idaho St making their intentions known.    On the Washington side there are numerous young guys with impressive resumes, highlighted by one of the nation's top 2030's in 6-4 285-pound tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1907993' first='Tyson' last='Daniels']. He currently sits with offers from the likes of Texas A/M, Penn St, and Auburn.   2028 DE [player_tooltip player_id='1012776' first='Matthew' last='Curran'] of Bellevue has made a significant jump up the rankings board with offers from San Diego St and UNLV, with 2027 Edge/OLB [player_tooltip player_id='1555731' first='Jason' last='Armbruster'] of Mount Si landing recent offers from North Dakota and Eastern Washington.    A couple of other 28's who folks will want to see include QB [player_tooltip player_id='1613160' first='Brady' last='Bonnell'] of Tahoma and DB [player_tooltip player_id='1335622' first='Mekhi' last='Fields'] of Rainier Beach, with both holding division 1 offers.          Let's take a look at a few of the other Washington standouts on both sides of the football.         You have to really like some of the big men who we will see at the showcase events. Camas adds D1 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1691682' first='Jack' last='Fournier'] who made the transfer from Mountain View HS, after making 55 tackles with 9 sacks last year. He's also a top TE within the region.   6-4 225-pound TE [player_tooltip player_id='1743631' first='Jack' last='Christiansen'] of Ferris HS in Spokane is in a similar situation to Fournier, with both of their teams going winless last year. He is a legit talent and an all-conference guy from last season.   Maybe the biggest sleeper of all right now is 6-6 tight end Brody Renners of Seattle Prep. The body alone puts him in a different category. He will be one to watch on the camp circuit.    [player_tooltip player_id='1727670' first='Max' last='Bridges'] out of Glacier Peak has probably made the most noise out of anybody this offseason so far, being an absolute disrupter coming off the edge for the FSP program. As a junior he was borderline unblockable making 44 tackles with 18 sacks.    Two other noteworthy DE's with stocks that continue to rise include 6-4 225-pound [player_tooltip player_id='1659062' first='Parker' last='Stewart'] of Kelso. Most are familiar with the name, with his 6-7 brother being a big time D1 tackle. Also impressive is 6-3 235-pound Bellevue edge [player_tooltip player_id='1606270' first='Kaden' last='Kooner'] who is on multiple recruiting boards.    Very similar to the guys on the defensive front and at the TE position, are the LB's who will be attending the showcase events. 6-3 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1691685' first='Jayland' last='Coleman'] is an athlete I'm super intrigued by. Separate from his dunking ability, his 90+ tackles and incredibly impressive testing times put him in the D1 conversation.    1st team backer [player_tooltip player_id='2193156' first='Blake' last='Nieborsky'] of Inglemoor HS will be another individual to watch along with 2028 standout Sevelle Velazquez of Skyview HS in Vancouver. I expect him to be in the GSHL Defensive POY conversation this coming season.    Also do not sleep on [player_tooltip player_id='1339295' first='Chance' last='Hatchett'] of Ferndale. He has been relevant since his freshman season coming from one of the best football families ever to rep the state.    In the secondary [player_tooltip player_id='2065194' first='Ray' last='Clark III'] of O'Dea helped the Irish to the state title last year, earning all-conference honors on both sides of the football. The 6-0 corner brings legit versatility to the table and could significantly up his stock over the offseason.    Underclassmen [player_tooltip player_id='1691690' first='Nick' last='Simms'] of Bellevue and [player_tooltip player_id='1865137' first='Dom' last='Kelly'] of Lindbergh have proven to be two of the top young DB's in the state. Simms has recently killed it from a testing standpoint at multiple events with Kelly leaving no doubt among freshman (29's).    On the offensive side of the ball [player_tooltip player_id='1188132' first='Leo' last='Harnetiaux'] of Seattle Prep had a solid junior year and continues to rank among the top QBs in Washington for 2027. 6-4 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1605392' first='Ben' last='Druckman'] of Camas hit on 62% of his passes with 8 TDs/2 INTs as a junior. Expectations will be high for him to lead the Papermakers.    We've talked a lot about 2028 standout QB [player_tooltip player_id='2154114' first='Lincoln' last='Heinrich'] of Walla Walla who set school records and helped the Blue Devils to their first playoff appearance since 2015. He will be another quarterback to keep an eye on during the summer months.    Two lineman who currently sit on the D1 bubble include Ernest Populus of O'Dea and [player_tooltip player_id='2167337' first='Nikai' last='Senethavilay'] of Lake Washington. The showcases could help them get over the hump from an offer standpoint, with both possessing legit size (6-4 290) and 1st team all-conference accolades to go with.    [player_tooltip player_id='986727' first='Treylon' last='McGraw'] is maybe the most exciting athlete out of the entire group. The 5-9 slot receiver made 38 catches for 658 yards and 10 TDs for a much-improved Heritage program.    Other individuals who project at the RB spot include [player_tooltip player_id='2166826' first='Randy' last='Reyes Jr.'] of Graham Kapowsin who has a stock that has shot the roof with his impressive camp performances. Also [player_tooltip player_id='1615867' first='Kainoa' last='Brown'] of Mercer Island and [player_tooltip player_id='1219715' first='Kian' last='Krueger'] of Prairie HS. Brown will go down as one of the best players ever to come out of Mercer with Krueger continuing to look like one of the most versatile incoming junior backs in the state.
