Who to Look for on the Upcoming Camp Circuit "Defense"

With collegiate camp season upcoming it's always interesting to project out on who might be adding offers in the coming weeks & months. There are multiple events during June with the Northwest Showcase at Western Oregon being the largest camp of its kind on the West Coast. Last year there were individuals from 30 different states that were represented.    We won't talk on all of the athletes but have a look at a few of the region's best who will be in attendance..          Boise St commit [player_tooltip player_id='904208' first='Zeke' last='Thomas'] and Summit offensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1609771' first='Peter' last='Stanley'] are ranked two of Oregon's top three recruits for the 2028 class, with the big man from Bend holding offers from the likes of Cal and Oregon St. Look for each to garner significant attention from the universities and be in the MVP conversation at the event.    6-5 235-pound 2027 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1242768' first='George' last='VanSandt'] recently committed to Arkansas and has blown up as much an anybody in recent months. I personally like 6-5 210-pound 2028 Tight End/D End [player_tooltip player_id='1609596' first='Brady' last='Knips'] to walk away with a handful of offers and possibly be the talk of the camp. It's not a matter of if but when as he will be a major D1 recruit.    [player_tooltip player_id='937281' first='Tripp' last='Johansen'] of Willamette HS is another standout you have to like. His combination of academic prowess, and a nonstop motor from his D end spot, have multiple Ivy League institutions and Big Sky schools such as Idaho and Idaho St making their intentions known.    On the Washington side there are numerous young guys with impressive resumes, highlighted by one of the nation's top 2030's in 6-4 285-pound tackle Tyson Daniels. He currently sits with offers from the likes of Texas A/M, Penn St, and Auburn.   2028 DE Matthew Curran of Bellevue has made a significant jump up the rankings board with offers from San Diego St and UNLV, with 2027 Edge/OLB Jason Armbruster of Mount Si landing recent offers from North Dakota and Eastern Washington.    A couple of other 28's who folks will want to see include QB Brady Bonnell of Tahoma and DB Mekhi Fields of Rainier Beach, with both holding division 1 offers.          Let's take a look at a few of the other Oregon standouts on the defensive side of the ball.         The LB's are impressive overall with [player_tooltip player_id='1878396' first='Aidan' last='Galusha'] of Dallas having one of the fastest rising stocks in the Northwest and being one of the 5A POY favorites next season in Oregon.    6-3 215-pound OLB [player_tooltip player_id='2088792' first='Zane' last='Carley'] of Tualatin earned 1st team all TRL honors last year with [player_tooltip player_id='2054683' first='Toren' last='Drucker'] of Mountainside doing the same thing in the Metro League. Both athletes are D1 bubble guys with collegiate showcases in June potentially changing the game for them.    [player_tooltip player_id='2090563' first='Robbie' last='Capers'] is a guy most don't know about yet. The very versatile 5A athlete can play multiple spots on the field, and he will be a big reason that Mountain View HS is listed as one of the state title favorites.    [player_tooltip player_id='1601596' first='Ashton' last='Randall'] of 4A Estacada ranks as one of the state's top 20 recruits for the 2028 class. He will be another Oregon POY favorite on D. Look for him to have a big year running the ball as well. [player_tooltip player_id='1609795' first='Mikey' last='Covey'] of 3A state champ Cascade Christian will be in a similar situation as Randall, ranking as one of the state's best and in the POY conversation.    [player_tooltip player_id='1560665' first='Brevik' last='Hill'] of Grants Pass was named the South-Central Conference Offensive Player of the Year last season, hauling in 1000+ yards with 15 TD's. He could very well project on D, earning 1st team all-league accolades there as well.    6-4 200 DB Saxon Brock of Ashland HS has a stock that is rising quickly, especially being able to play corner.   Sandy's [player_tooltip player_id='1566153' first='Mason' last='Frederickson'] will go down as one of the best athletes ever to come out of the school. The Pioneers will be in 5A state title contention this year as well.    A couple other noteworthy defensive backs include two of the Metro's best in [player_tooltip player_id='1425922' first='Tahkai' last='Smith'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1558030' first='AJ' last='Walker'] out of Westview. Smith killed it in the conference offensively last season as a sophomore, with Walker being one of the more exciting players in the state on 7v7 circuit.    On the D line a pair of 6-5 edge rushers will be ones to watch. [player_tooltip player_id='2088956' first='Luke' last='Winningham'] of Canby earned 1st team all-league honors and is back for a Cougars program that should be in the mix come playoff time. [player_tooltip player_id='1708645' first='John' last='Alexander'] of Gladstone is ranked among the state's best, but most aren't aware playing for a 4A team that struggled.    [player_tooltip player_id='1614794' first='Kolby' last='Wofford'] makes the move from 3A Dayton to 6A power Tualatin. This should be a welcomed addition for a program in title contention. Fellow Three Rivers League athlete [player_tooltip player_id='2105931' first='Max' last='Matijacic'] had an all-conference sophomore season at Lake O last year, helping them win the state title.
