Tennessee high school football is loaded with talent heading into the 2026 season, and the Class 3A group is packed with standout offensive playmakers. As spring ball wraps up across the state, several guys are emerging as top prospects to watch in Tennessee high school football recruiting.

In this scouting series breaking down the top football players by position and classification, here's an in-depth look at the top five Class 3A offensive linemen in Tennessee entering the 2026 high school football season.

https://twitter.com/josh_frensley78/status/2056806979914404020?s=20

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1629118' first='Josh' last='Frensley'] – Westview High School

Westview High School had an elite offense last season, led by a plethora of blue-chip offensive prospects. However, the trench guys helped make it all possible, and [player_tooltip player_id='1629118' first='Josh' last='Frensley'] was the best in that department. He took that next step as a junior, having a standout season that earned him Prep Redzone All-State honors, as he looks to attract college attention in his final campaign with the Chargers.

He offers solid size, standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 276 pounds in a thick frame that's built well for his interior position. Frensley is flat-out dominant at center, keeping his signal caller upright and opening running lanes for whoever is toting the rock. The rising senior is physical and nasty in the trenches, with a quick first step off the ball that allows him to have an advantage over just about everyone he lines up against.

Frensley is a good all-around player with nice technique, high football IQ and proven production at one of the most important positions in the game. He lacks a bit in size, but could certainly be a rotational player somewhere at the collegiate level.

Photo: Tyner Academy OL [player_tooltip player_id='1592127' first='Carmello' last='Peoples'] at a Prep Redzone camp.

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1592127' first='Carmello' last='Peoples'] – Tyner Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='1592127' first='Carmello' last='Peoples'] is one of the more intriguing offensive tackle prospects in his class, coming off a standout 2025 season where he was a consensus Class 3A All-State selection. He holds two Division I offers from Western Kentucky and Georgia State, but the rising senior has nice upside at the next level and could see more offers in the future.

He offers great size for his position, standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 300 pounds in a large frame with long arms and plenty of power. Peoples is a good all-around player with a nice first step, a high football IQ and strong hands that keep defenders from getting around him. I like what he can do in pass protection with his big hands and stout anchor that make him very difficult to move.

The 2027 prospect needs to polish up in a few areas and become more limber, but he is a talented player with high upside due to his natural size and strength. Those are two things you can't teach, which is why he's an attractive player to schools.

https://twitter.com/55PeytonS55/status/1995944186835861953?s=20

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1708850' first='Peyton' last='Standridge'] – Meigs County High School

[player_tooltip player_id='1708850' first='Peyton' last='Standridge'] plays for Meigs County High School and is coming off a good season with his squad, where he earned Prep Redzone All-State honors. The large offensive tackle recently picked up his first college offer from UVA-Wise. Going into his final season of high school ball, he will try to win a state championship with the Tigers, while looking to draw more collegiate interest.

He offers nice size for this classification, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 280 pounds in a large frame that is built for contact. Standridge is quick off the ball, extremely physical, intelligent and plays with a high motor. The rising senior has solid technique but could polish it up. He can block effectively in both the run game and in pass protection, but he excels in the first, where he fires off the ball and drives all competition into the second level.

Standridge frequently carried syrup with him for all of his pancakes that he totaled a season ago, which came out to 57 in 13 games. He lacks top-end size, but the 2027 prospect has potential to be a contributor at the next level.

Photo: Giles County OL [player_tooltip player_id='1193539' first='Carter' last='Garrett'] at a Prep Redzone camp.

2028 [player_tooltip player_id='1193539' first='Carter' last='Garrett'] – Giles County High School

[player_tooltip player_id='1193539' first='Carter' last='Garrett'] is a massive offensive tackle, coming off an all-state season with Giles County as he took the next step in his football development. He was an anchor for one of the best units in this classification and looks to get on college coaches' radar. There are some things he needs to work on, but I see the vision for this rising junior in Class 3A.

He's a mammoth of a man, standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 307 pounds in a massive frame that helps him dominate defenders. Garrett primarily plays right tackle, but has the potential to play on both sides. The 2028 prospect is physical and moves well for his size, but needs to fix his body to maximize his game.

Garrett can develop into an elite run blocker, but I like the upside in pass protection. Even as a bigger guy, he moves relatively well, has strong hands and a nice anchor that make it difficult to get around him. The biggest thing for him is developing his body and being more polished, but he can be one of the best players in this classification.

https://twitter.com/TracyShaw9011/status/2056034973488927087?s=20

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1670074' first='Tracy' last='Shaw'] – Melrose High School

[player_tooltip player_id='1670074' first='Tracy' last='Shaw'] is the final player on this list, but he is still one of the more intriguing prospects in Class 3A. He developed well last offseason, then performed even better in the 2025 campaign, earning him Prep Redzone All-State honors as a right tackle. He must build off that success and polish up in some areas, but I like the potential upside for him at the next level.

He offers nice size, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 286 pounds, in a large frame with long arms. Shaw is a good pass protector, but I like what he can do in the run game, where he can get his body on people and drive them to the second level. The rising senior needs to become more agile and develop technically, but he certainly has the body to be a college football player.

Tennessee high school football is loaded with talent heading into the 2026 season, and the Class 3A group is packed with standout offensive playmakers. As spring ball wraps up across the state, several guys are emerging as top prospects to watch in Tennessee high school football recruiting.
