On Wednesday, May 6th I was invited down to The Hun School of Princeton by my friend, colleague, and quarterback guru Tony Racioppi as the top school in New Jersey hosted their private, on-campus college showcase.

Because Hun is not governed by the NJSIAA, they are allowed to announce open showcase dates for colleges to visit campus and evaluate their talent. As such, schools including Georgia, West Virginia, Boston College, UMass, Louisville, Florida, Nebraska, Maryland, Monmouth, and Rhode Island - amongst many others, were all in attendance.

The showcase first featured a team dynamic warmup, followed by agility and explosion drills. All these provided myself and the college coaches in attendance to see exactly how athletic and mobile the team was. From there, the team broke into indy periods. I was unaware of the showcase's run of show and as such, I unfortunately did not get an opportunity to evaluate neither defensive linemen nor defensive backs during indy. The event concluded with approximately an hours worth of routes on air.

Getting a first hand look at all the talent Hun has to offer, below are my scouting notes for the prospects specified in the title of this article. These prospects' hometown are in states all across the land.

Hailing from nearby Hopewell, New Jersey, Cooper Briehler was a big-bodied defensive back prospect. With a Pitt offer at-hand, Briehler showed that he can run very well. One area for him to be mindful of is to look the ball into his hands when receiving the ball. I wish I got a more extended look at him, however.

Another near-by prospect was Brian Giambra. Hailing from nearby Rocky Hill, Giambra returned to the ball on curl routes as it is best when it is in his hands. With a somewhat sudden release, he uses his catch radius well. Although Giambra got caught up under his feet at times, indicating that his footwork can somewhat improve, to my naked eye he was the hardest runner when going deep, and quite possibly, the fastest receiver on the roster.

The Garbolino legacy continues. With eldest brother Frankie quarterbacking at RPI and younger brother (and Hun School alumnus) Jack off at Buffalo playing will, Dean Garbolino looks to breakthrough in his own way. The North Brunswick Native, Garbolino is a much different player than his two predecessors - who were much different from themselves too. Dean appears to be the most agile of the Garbolinos. With a strong ability to stop-and-start, Garbolino also gets down hill really well and has a lot of wiggle to him. Additionally, as a receiver he has shown to sink his hips when snapping atop his route for post routes.

Coming all the way from South Jersey is Medford native [player_tooltip player_id='2125892' first='Zain' last='Majeed']. I was a bit surprised to find that he was a running back and linebacker. To my naked eye, I thought that Majeed projected out as a hybrid edge-type player. My impression was mostly formed by his ability to get down hill well. Moreover, as a running back he practiced what is preached, protecting the ball as he finishes. A weapon out of the backfield in the passing game, Majeed also showcased solid hands. I would, however, like to see him sink his hips more on the out route.
