Prove It Year: Uncommitted 2027 DL

Summer camps have begun and college coaches are watching to see who is ready and able to play at their respective levels. Their focus is on the Class of 2027, for the most part, so it is time for these kids to prove themselves. Today's focus is on the DL position. We are going past the top few athletes and diving into the depth of the position to talk about a handful of athletes who I believe are hitting their stride and ready to have that Prove It year and by the end of the 2026 season they have earned multiple offers. Coaches, these are those under the radar athletes who I believe will impress over these next six months. Don't miss out on watching it happen.    We have covered Eli since he was a freshman at Ellsworth High School. We have watched him grow, get very strong, and earn his way into the varsity trenches on both sides of the football culminating in a junior season that saw him put up 22 tackles on defense. These next few months is the final stage for him to show off all the work, development, and experience. Time for him to prove to be someone who can control the interior of the trenches, move quickly and violently, and leave no doubt that he has the tools for a college DL or OL coach to work with and further develop. I'm hoping to see Eli at camps this summer and get that fresh look for myself. Coaches keep an eye out for the big man from Ellsworth this summer.     The trenches at Pewaukee have to be one of the more competitive trenches across WI when it comes to practice. Pewaukee has an embarrassment of riches in the their trenches which has given those athletes a chance to get great reps to learn and grow from. One of those athletes is 2027 DL [player_tooltip player_id='1889367' first='Bobby' last='Edwards III']. Bobby is a talented athlete that could really pop this summer/fall. He has a very accomplished wrestling background, qualifying for State this past season. I know coaches love to see that, especially for the heavyweights. Bobby is someone who understands how to use his hands and leverage while staying balanced and under control throughout battles. I'm fired up to see him show off those developing traits this summer and earn himself some next level opportunities.     2026 is setting up for Trevion to make a name for himself. Just looking at their team from 2025 to 2026, Bradford loses 50% of their defenders who had a TFL. They are going to need to have new athletes step up across the front seven and Tre could be one of them. The 6'2" 240 lbs DL flashed a quick get off, balance and agility to make OL miss with their punches, and some solid hands to keep himself clean at times. This summer it is time for him to show that he can win consistently with those tools. He has the frame to build on, it is time for him to show off the tools this summer, and verify it with production this fall. I'm very excited for the breakout that we could see from Young.     I'm very excited for what Parker could do this summer. The 5'11" and now 280 lbs DT is coming off a junior season where he collected 17 tackles, 3 TFLs, and a sack for Greendale. He is also a three sport athlete participating in track and wrestling alongside football. When I turn on the tape I see that wrestling experience shining through. A big man who uses leverage well, plays with strong hands to create and keep separation, and has the overall strength to control the LOS and shed linemen. The summer camp circuit should be the perfect stage for him to rep out wins that highlight his best traits. I won't be surprised to see Parker climb our rankings during our post-camp season update.     It is game time for the massive DT/NG out of MAS. The 6'2" 330 lbs 2027 earned 2nd Team All Conference eating up space in the middle. Jonas proved to be an immovable object throughout the season. These next few months it is time for him to show that he can also win 1 on 1. To show that he cannot only two gap, but also wreck havoc on his own by winning through one gap and beating the man across from him. The big man checks boxes, but now is the time to prove he has a more rounded game. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does.     Trevor is the most productive member of this article, coming off 23 tackles, and 5 TFLs in 2025. It feels like Trevor is someone who is really being slept on. The 5'11" 250 lbs DT has a solid frame, but wins with athleticism. He is springy out of his stance, light and sudden on his feet to be able to avoid with lateral agility. He also has the range to pursue outside the pocket. The state should be set for him to have an even bigger role this fall, and therefore more production. Before we get there, though, I think we see Trevor make a lot of strong impressions this summer. I know he will be a riser in our next rankings update too. So don't miss out on this steal of a DL.
