Every team needs playmaker options at the skill positions. If you want to go deep into the playoffs you need guys who can take it to the house on any given play.

Having explosive players is key and the more the better so the stronger teams can't subdue the offense by taking out one or two players.

In this report we are focusing on five explosive upperclassmen who have all shown glimpses of great things to come and have had the kind of productive off-seasons that should deliver some standout play this fall

So without further adieu, let's take a closer look at what these guys have been up to and zoom in on their plans for the rest of the off-season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1125716' first='CamRon' last='Fields'] , 5'10, 180, RB, KC Washington, '27, (PICTURED ABOVE) - last fall he was one of the most dynamic all-purpose playmakers in the state, playing a hybrid game of wideout or in the slot, and as a RB or out of the Wildcat as well. His stat line was among the best in the state, catching 63 passes for 1,281 yards, carrying the ball 69 times for 860 yards, and had 346 return yards to give him 2,487 APY and 24 TDs. All in 9 games. He is the top returning player for scoring TDs, and one of a rare few who averaged 20+ yards per catch and averaged 12+ yards per carry rushing. He is electric in the open field as an elusive ball carrier who can shift gears and use his next-level burst and breakaway speed to take it to the house. He has been training hard for a big senior year and is ready to deliver once again.

Arthur Witherspoon, 6'0, 185, WR/ATH, Aquinas, '27, he is the only other baller in this report getting ready for his senior season after hauling in receptions totaling 300+ yards and scored 8 TDs in 8 games. As a wide receiver he is generally split out to either side, gets separation early and runs fluid, precise routes. With a good catch radius, strong hands and a knack for finding soft spots in zone he can make the difficult, contested catch in traffic. This off-season he has been working with Topspeed and is focused on training to get faster and more explosive and the work is paying off as his 40 is in the 4.6s and recently ripped off one of the the top 5-10-5s in the state at 4.14. He has also been working through his school's off-season training program and doing fieldwork with the QBs. This guy is a baller who is going to take it to another level this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591856' first='Elijah' last='Bergeson'] , 6'2, 175, RB/ATH, Winfield, '28, up first for the juniors-to-be is another multi-positional playmaker who is a running back on offense and a hybrid linebacker/strong safety on defense. He is coming off a strong sophomore season when he was moved around in different positions to take the handoff out of the backfield or get the ball in his hands on quick perimeter passes. On defense he uses his next-level length, instincts and closing speed tracking the ball sideline-to-sideline. This off-season he has been busy playing basketball and is also a top jumper in his class in both the long and high jumps and is closing in on school record jumps. This summer he will continue to play hoops while training to get ready for a breakout season this fall for the Vikings.

[player_tooltip player_id='1593217' first='Skylar' last='Vantrece'], 5'8, 150, RB/WR/DB, Olathe North, '28, next up for the approaching juniors is another multi-positional player on both sides of the ball who got an opportunity to play free safety in his last game and stepped up with eight tackles and rushed for 50+ yards on offense. He has been slowed this off-season after breaking an ankle two months ago, but has been training hard throughout the rehab process. He intends to be 100% shortly and will attend camps at Kansas State, Kansas, and Missouri among others. His training is paying off as he is bigger and stronger than a year ago and is faster despite being slowed by injury. This guy has worked through some adversity this off-season and after finishing strong last year look for him to take the next step this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1343602' first='Eddie' last='Acosta'], 6'0, 165, WR/ATH, Mill Valley, '28, and last but certainly not least, we have a guy who I saw in 7v7 action this past spring playing with Strongside in Tulsa. He is another gifted receiver who has been training in the standout Mill Valley off-season training program as well as fine-tuning his performance and measurables with TopSpeed to get even faster and stronger. He is also cross-training in both track and lacrosse while he continues to work with Coach Jamie Resseguie, the team strength and conditioning coach, who has helped him establish new PRs in all the key lifts. He has also gotten bigger, putting on 15 pounds, while getting faster, as established recently when he ran 21 mph at TopSpeed. This guy has had a strong off-season and is ready to roll this fall.
