Newly-Ranked 2028 OL

We just dropped our updated 2028 rankings, and we're starting our positional breakdowns by looking at the newest players in the rankings. After going <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/05/behind-the-scenes-of-the-2028-rankings-spring/">behind the scenes</a> of the 2028 class update, we're looking at the 11 newly-ranked offensive linemen.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Which Offensive Linemen Were Added to the 2028 Rankings?</h2>   Editor's Note: Check out our other newly-ranked position pieces:   <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/05/newly-ranked-2028-qbs/">QBs</a> <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/05/newly-ranked-2028-rbs/">RBs</a>    Hayes is a massive interior offensive lineman with a huge wingspan and two-way ability. He burst onto the scene for undefeated Watauga last year and debuts well inside the top 100. Hayes really impressed my colleague, Matt Morrow, at his CFI Showcase in mid-May, and that's part of what put him in this position in our rankings.     Johnson has flown under the radar, but he had such a strong season for South Johnston that he popped on other players' film. That landed him on our <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/03/top-6-ol-in-johnston-harnett-county/">Johnston County OL Deep Dive</a> list, and we like what we've seen. If he gains a bit more weight, he'll turn some heads on the recruiting trail.     We first mentioned Lynch a year ago when we <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/07/franklinton-red-rams-2025-season-preview/">previewed Franklinton</a>, but we didn't immediately see his sophomore year film. After the year, though, we liked what we saw and ranked him among <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/03/top-6-ol-in-franklin-nash-wilson-county/">Franklin County's best</a>, thanks to his strength and versatility.     Jackson is a big lineman with some positional versatility, and he excels at climbing to the second level. He primarily plays tackle for Montgomery Central, but is a likely guard or center at the next level due to length and his compact strength.     We haven't seen a ton of Kawende, and don't even have verified height and weight for the rising junior, but we love what we've seen so far. He's a strong, balanced blocker who can block down, kick out, and climb to the second level.     Crowell doesn't have a ton of publicly available film, but we've heard a bunch of great things about him, and his size and testing numbers suggest there's true college potential there. He's a guy we're looking forward to scouting further in the coming months.     A raw guard, Abrams has elite size and has flashed against some of the best teams in the state. He had one of his best games of the season against state-champion Grimsley. A massive guard, he may kick out to tackle, but he works well in limited space and could stay at guard if needed.     Davis will be one of the few veterans on a young line for Western Guilford in the fall. He's a technically sound people-mover and has great leverage and footwork. He's not the flashiest offensive lineman, but he gets the job done pretty consistently.     Amerson flew under the radar throughout the year, but he's started to make some noise during the summer. He won the leadership award at the <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/04/ccc-clayton-recap-award-winners/">Carolinas Coaches Combine</a>, a testament to his talent and off-the-field demeanor. He's definitely a guy to keep an eye on throughout the next couple of years.     Anthony has excellent positional versatility, as he's played both tackle spots and some defensive line. He's not the tallest lineman, so he may need to rely on that ability to move inside at the next level. He's a talented young player with plenty of time to learn and grow.     Ingalls had a strong year for Greene Central last year, and he's taking some momentum into the summer. He's moving to J.H. Rose, and he's working this summer to get bigger and faster. He's already picked up a top camp performer honor this summer, and he has plenty of time to continue to develop into a consistently dominant tackle prospect.
