Below, I picked five players who flashed as freshmen and carry great momentum going into the recruiting period. Get used to these names now before it's too late!

Check out these five 2029s who you should start watching closely before they blow up:

(@sam_beebe24)

North Bend Central has a good group of OL prospects in this class, including OT/DT [player_tooltip player_id='2215029' first='Sam' last='Beebe']. As a freshman, Sam quickly proved he was ready for the HS ranks and earned a starting role at left tackle and defensive tackle, showing a higher ceiling on offense. Sam stands out immediately at a towering 6'5" and 250 pounds with room to easily add some bulk to his lengthy frame. He shows good "pop" out of his stance, showing he can fully extend to be the initial aggressor at the point of attack. Beebe does a good job staying low in his stance and has the strength in his base to keep himself from getting stood up or walked back. There are still some green areas to his game, but once those get fine-tuned, Sam is going to be a hot commodity on the recruiting trail.

(@UhingForrest)

The Blair Bears will be losing some key players to graduation this offseason, but will have hungry players like sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2139504' first='Forrest' last='Uhing'] ready to step up. Forrest was a standout for the Bears' freshman team and ended his wrestling season with a fourth-place finish (157 lbs) at the Class B state tournament. This wrestling background should help big time at LB, where Forrest excels as a physical tackler. Forrest's versatility and athleticism should help him carve out a role on offense as well.

The Aurora Huskies look ready to turn some heads as they return to Class B in 2026 with a squad full of talented underclassmen. One underclassman who could earn early playing time is WR/LB [player_tooltip player_id='2139617' first='Micah' last='Shannon'], who moved up to the Huskies' JV team and made an impact on both sides of the ball. He has a taller frame at 6'4" with room to add some mass in the weight room this offseason. He does a great job getting after the ball as he's able to track it while engaging with linemen and has the motor/speed to close on it after breaking off. Shannon's size also makes him a mismatch on offense against smaller DBs and helps him win his 1v1s as a blocker in the run game. Very interesting to see how Micah continues to develop in year two.

Lincoln Standing Bear's [player_tooltip player_id='2139705' first='Brady' last='Johnson'] is an interesting player who I don't have a ton of info on, but I am looking forward to seeing more of this season. The main reason Brady stands out is his listed size at 6'5" and 325 pounds, which reads like a next-level prospect. With the Grizzlies losing some starters to graduation, Brady could slip into a starting role on the offensive line. Stay tuned... I know I will!

Seward's [player_tooltip player_id='2139900' first='Alex' last='Garcia'] is another player whom I don't have a ton of information on, but his listed size intrigues me. Alex is listed as a defensive lineman for the Bluejays and already has next-level measurables at 6'6" and 220 pounds. With a strong basketball background, I can see Alex using his combination of size and athleticism to dominate with strength or finesse at the line of scrimmage. I'm interested to see whether Alex is used as a tight end or an offensive lineman on offense next fall. Definitely someone we're keeping a close eye on!

Make sure to follow @PRZ_OscarG for more news on Nebraska and Iowa HS recruiting.
