Class B District 4 Focus: Lexington 2028s to Know

The 5'10 155 pounder is a safety that plays with a presence that goes much bigger than those measurables will show you. He's a powerful tackler for his size and is also effective in the passing lanes with sound range that you want out of your safety. He has great next-level size already building at 6'4 245 pounds as a defensive end that is hard to miss when it comes to his motor. Our DL9 in the Nebraska 2028 class is a backfield menace that has soft hands off his blocks and always cashs in when left unprotected heading into the backfield. Mateo is similar to a bull at the rodeo when he heads into the point of attack as this young man has the violent physicality you want to see in the offensive trenches. He's got a lot of strength at his disposal on both sides of the trenches as I came away impressed with how this kid wins with all that strength as a persistent run stopper with also good short-area vision within the inside box. He displays the great hands in high traffic areas, but it's his accelerator to get yards after the catch is what will check college coaches boxes at camps this summer. He is also an excellent in the return game as he shows off great elusiveness when it comes to his agility. Line this kid up just about anywhere and he'll have success but surely with his ability to flip the field after the catch, there's no doubt wide receiver is his best fit when it comes ot the next-level.
