Central Florida Mega Camp Showcases Plenty of New Stars

KISSIMMEE – On a weekend when families spend time together, it was all about football for over 100 high school prospects and coaches as the Central Florida Mega Camp showcased several players to kick off the summer.

With college coaches instructing, teaching and evaluating student/athletes came from all over to get some work in and display their many talents.

From testing to competing, the order of this day was to get exposure in front of some decision makers – live and via streaming.

While awards were given out and some prospects were singled out for the work they put in, everyone who came and braved some late spring, early summer heat attended for a purpose.

As many continue to gravitate toward to big company combines, this was the event that produced results, and by the end of the three hours, offers were extended – something that many of these players had worked hard to achieve.

To fully understand the recruiting process, the Rivals.com and Under Armour late winter events are NOT designed for those prospects that aren't “star-rated” by these “talent” evaluators. What this mega event does is provide a forum for rising seniors to finally jump on the map along with some younger football players that are experiencing and combine/camp setting for the first time.

While several programs came out live to see the event in person, a live stream was provided for colleges and universities who could not make it out on Memorial Day weekend. It is an idea that promises to get results.

It's events like this, which attracted one-time University of Miami and NFL standout Ray-Ray Armstrong who worked and observed many talented young men, that produce real results and give many of the under-the-radar players a forum to show their many talents.

Here are some of the players who were recognized by the coaches, although every player who attended had the experience of being challenged and taught:

QUARTERBACKS

Cameron Brown

Andrew “A.J.” Chung, Winter Garden West Orange

Lucas Mineok, Orlando Boone

RUNNING BACKS

Trevon Ellis

David Park

Chase Latham, Windermere

Aaron Reno, Kissimmee Poinciana

RECEIVERS

[player_tooltip player_id='1715865' first='Kyson' last='Cleveland'], Orlando Boone

Frederick Brown, Sebring

Daniel James, Lake Wales

OFFENSIVE LINEMEN
Trevin Reaves, Orlando Edgewater

Chavis Shackelford, Melbourne Central Catholic

Boshard Williams

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN

[player_tooltip player_id='2206495' first='J𝚍𝚎𝚒𝚘𝚗' last='J𝚊𝚌𝚔𝚜𝚘𝚗'], Orlando The First Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='2090674' first='Tyler' last='Davis'], Brooksville Nature Coast Tech

LINEBACKERS

Loobensky Lafortune, Lake Wales

Dominique Redding, Kissimmee Osceola

Gavin Shelton, Kissimmee Osceola

DEFENSIVE BACKS

Messiah “Scoop” Bailey, Clermont East Ridge

Nathan Bell

[player_tooltip player_id='1631150' first='Garrison' last='Lubin'], Lake Minneola

Cameron Medina

WAIT, THERE'S MORE….

In addition to those who were singled out, there were many others who also put in the work.

While all the schools that these young men attend were not provided, we did get some of the names who came out to get themselves on the map.
