2027 Check In: Which WRs Are Dominating the Offseason?

Welcome back!   Today we're doing a 2027 Check In on some of our WRs we haven't covered in recent months.   These guys have been finding a ton of success in the recruiting world since our last updates, and have huge seasons on the horizon this upcoming fall.   Make sure you check out some of their film below, you won't want to miss out on this kind of talent.    [player_tooltip player_id='1668199' first='Carter' last='Castleberry'] is a talented WR from Winterboro who's seen his recruitment take off recently.   Castleberry really caught my eye on the offensive side of the ball- he's a well-rounded WR who can be played in a variety of creative ways. He's quick, has great size and speed, and can attack multiple levels of the field with his route running.   I'm really impressed by how explosive of a prospect Castleberry is- he can take screens and jet passes the distance while also having the receiving skills to get out wide and create big plays downfield. He's got a good set of hands and some terrific run-after-the-catch skills he uses to outrun and evade defenses."   Castleberry has picked up new offers from Coastal Carolina, ECU, Liberty, and many more in the month of May.   We're going to be seeing a ton of big plays from Castleberry this fall. In the meantime, we highly recommend you check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1640570' first='Mike' last='Bass'] is a dominant weapon on the outside for Central who's going to have a huge year this upcoming fall.   "At 6'2 170, Bass is quick, can run great routes, and does a terrific job using his size and catch radius to bully DBs and haul in tough-to-catch passes downfield.   I'm really impressed with Bass's ability to gain separation at his size- he can change his direction effortlessly and consistently finds ways to get wide open at every level of the field, leading to huge plays in the opposing secondary. Bass also has some great skills down in the red zone- he's a huge scoring threat that came away with tons of touchdowns last season, and I don't expect that to stop anytime soon."   Bass has added several new offers this offseason, picking them up from Alabama State, USF, and Troy.   Bass is set up for a ton of success this fall. Central's offense has enormous potential, especially in their passing game. Until then, be sure to check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='466867' first='Carter' last='Feagin'] is a productive WR from McAdory who's seen a ton of success this offseason.   "Feagin is a dominant pass catcher capable of attacking every level of the field- he's highly athletic, plays with great speed and twitch, and can create huge plays with the ball in his hands. Feagin is a talented route runner who easily gains separation downfield, has a great set of hands, and can create big plays after the catch with how quick he is.   What impressed me most was seeing how well Feagin performed in contested situations- he does a great job fighting off defenders for passes and frequently brings in huge receptions downfield over the tops of DBs."   On top of several other offers he's picked up this offseason, Feagin picked up new ones from Marshall, Chattanooga, and UNA in the last few weeks!   Feagin has been one of the more consistent WRs in the class since his freshman season. Be sure to check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1672883' first='Jakenyon' last='Allen'] is a speedster from MGM who is going to dominate in his senior season this fall.   "Allen is an athletic playmaker who kills defenses with his speed, twitch, and change of direction. Whether he lines up out wide, in the backfield, or as a returner, Allen will make defenders miss and create explosive plays. It's seriously impressive to watch.   Allen can be used in a variety of ways as a receiver. He has the speed to take jet sweeps/touch passes the distance, and the route running to attack and bring in receptions at multiple levels of the field. Few DBs can actually match up with Allen's speed. It's his best trait, and is going to take him far both this season and on at the next level. Allen is explosive in every sense of the word."   Allen is finding a lot of success in the recruiting world this month, adding new offers from Grambling, Jackson State, and Florida State in the last few weeks.   Allen is going to be a huge threat to secondaries across the state this fall. You can see what I mean in his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1127665' first='Elias' last='Holtzclaw'] is an electric WR who's headed into a huge senior season at Auburn this fall.   "Holtzclaw is quick, reliable with his hands, and has the athleticism to adjust his body and make some ridiculous catches downfield. He's a shifty route runner who can generate consistent separation and can also climb up and high-point the ball in contested one-on-one situations.   I'm really impressed with how Holtzclaw uses his speed. He's great at changing his direction and making defenders miss after the catch. He can easily turn what look to be smaller gains into huge plays out wide simply off that. I think Holtzclaw is due for a huge season this upcoming fall at Auburn. There's a ton to be excited about with that passing game in 2026."   Holtzclaw has been busy in May, picking up offers from Miles College, North Alabama, Point, and more!
