A series that I do where I dive into the tape of the newest athletes to hit my radar. We are always looking for that next athlete that needs to be in the spotlight here at Prep Redzone WI, so my list of athletes to add to our rankings is constantly growing. We don't want to wait until rankings time to talk about these kids though, so we give them their shine right here. Let's dive in! Coaches, make sure to acquaint yourselves with any of these athletes you aren't familiar with.

Colton is a very versatile offensive weapon that could be in line for a massive breakout senior season. When you watch through his highlights you see that he rotates at RB and WR, with plenty of success creating big plays at both. Speed, agility, and acceleration are the strengths of Colton's game. He is so quick when he gets the ball in his hands out of the backfield. Colton can reach top speed as he is going through the hole and can make the lateral cut and get back to top speed quickly. Out wide you see the speed and agility consistently get him open and make DBs miss after the catch. It will be interesting to see if he handles even more work out wide this fall as most of the athletes with more catches than him graduate this summer. Keep an eye out for the New Richmond athlete.

What a year for 2027 CB KJ Lally! KJ finished his junior year with 3 INTs, 17 PBUs, 30 tackles, and 3 TFLs on his way to a 2nd Team All Conference honor. After watching his tape for the first time I am hoping to cross paths with KJ this summer. KJ has very strong instincts and has shown to be very quick with his route recognition, allowing him to be aggressive at the catch. His feet are quick in his back pedal and he can quickly transition out of his backpedal. The speed is there to run deep in tight coverage or to blitz from way out wide. The physicality with his tackling makes me very confident that he can handle playing at the next level as well. Coaches, I highly recommend diving into KJ's film. Definitely someone to know.

Watching Adam's film definitely had me asking "Who do we have here?". The 6'5" 270 lbs junior looks like one of the best OL in the city of Milwaukee. The 2027 brings next level strength with that immense size. Adam shines in the run game. He is able to get hands clamped onto his man and has the feet to stay square on his man while plowing him off the line of scrimmage. Knurr's ability to quickly overpower DL is a major strength of his game and should garner him attention from the next level. The film also shows flashes of how quickly and fluidly he can explode up to level two to block LBs. Adam is a very impressive OL prospect. Get on this kid.

The Class of 2027 has a solid collection of talent at the top of the LB position. It is getting even better with Sawyer hitting our radar. The 2027 ILB has a fantastic frame at 6'3" 210 lbs. The big man brings the heat to the front seven too, delivering big hits that have jarred the ball loose. Sawyer has solid range sideline to sideline, but it is his lateral agility while playing downhill between the tackles and picking through the trash around the trenches that impresses me most. Having Sawyer's size, physicality, yet agility is an intriguing combination that DCs should be excited about. Don't be late to the party with this impressive 2027.

What a force Mason has proven to be along the interior of the DL. To do it as just a sophomore has me very excited for his future and should have college coaches paying close attention. The 6'3" 300 lbs 2028 DT/NG wrecks drives on a weekly basis. The sheer size and strength of Mason show up rep after rep. He eats up blocks and has proven over and over to have the power to not only hold his ground, but also collapse the pocket or make TFLs against the run game. The big fella is already showing consistently strong hands and good hand use overall. The big man also shows that he can drop his pad level and get underneath OL to drive them off the ball with leverage. Mason is also showing that he can move pretty well too. The ceiling is very high for the Freedom athlete.

Ryan is coming off a sophomore season where he was able to collect 40 tackles and a TFL. A portion of those tackles came from his work on special teams where he shows off the speed. On defense we get to see more of that range, but more importantly his ability to find the ball and meet the RB in the hole vs the run game. As the season went on Ryan got better and better at navigating through traffic and getting to the football while avoiding OL. The 2028 is just starting to develop his instincts too, so as his experience grows so will that trait. Keep an eye on the 2028 LB as he looks to take a step forward for a very good Baldwin-Woodville team.

We end with a very impressive 2028 OL. The 6'1" 275 lbs sophomore is building a great base of athleticism, range, footwork, and balance. The pass protection clips were very impressive, showing a kid who can effectively slide laterally to mirror DTs while still maintaining a strong base that can absorb a bull rusher. We are seeing the violence and power in his run blocking too. Even when Max is pulling across the formation we see some effective power to clear out holes for his RBs. Max is building on a great base of talent. With two years of high school still ahead of him I am very excited for what he can develop into.
