Spring Practice Report: North Central (Pt. 2)

In the next couple of weeks we will be pounding the pavement in Indiana, checking out some top prospects in the entire state, starting with the central Indianapolis region. Today, we visited North Central High School in Indianapolis, where the Panthers kicked off spring ball. Here is Part 1 of our two-part article on who stood out this morning.    [player_tooltip player_id='2166080' first='Josiah' last='Johnson'] is a blossoming Class of 2027 offensive tackle who will anchor the Panthers up front. He has a big frame, a thick can, long arms and legit 6-foot-5-plus size desired in a college recruit; he has the tools. He is also a raw player, the biggest key for Johnson will be developing mental toughness and having physicality to dominate and control the LOS. Johnson holds one offer from Western Illinois, but I would expect that to change when college coaches get a closer look.     As we pointed out in the last article, North Central is really, really salty at receiver. Gillispie has the frame to be a top-end wideout at the next level. He has plenty of juice, great hands in traffic, good long speed and can be very shifty after the catch. Good possession WO who can leap over defenders and high-point the ball. Posted a 42.3 inch vertical and 10.5 broad jump. No offers currently.     Tua'John has the chance to be a really explosive playmaker for the Panthers. He flashes good change-of-direction and burst, and in-person he performed well in one-on-one drills. He is very good in space, flashing ability to make defenders miss, and eh has soft hands when used as a receiver. 5-foot-8, 180-pound prospect.     [player_tooltip player_id='2166084' first='Jawon' last='Waddell'] is a slippery receiver for North Central who is a good route runner., comes off LOS with good burst and speed. Great adjustment to the ball high-low. Strong, tough, muscular and with a solid size-speed combination and balled-up calves. Small school teams will want to know about him during spring recruiting, and Division I teams should keep an eye on him this fall.     [player_tooltip player_id='2166091' first='Zubare' last='Green'] is a strong outside linebacker who can cover and defend the flat. Possesses good range, speed and athletic ability, Green is very instinctive, flows to the ball and can wrap up in space. Strong open-field tackler who is quick to read-and-react. Recorded 46 total tackles, 24 solo tackles, one QB pressure in 2025.
