PRZ 7v7 National Championship Day One 10U MVPs

It's all come down to this. 19 Prep Redzone 7v7 tournaments have been held across the county with over 1,300 teams and 10,000+ athletes competing for the National Championship this weekend at LakePoint Sports Complex in Cartersville, GA. I'll be covering the future of middle school and high school football with the 10U age group and providing coverage from all 13 teams fighting for the title. Here were my personal MVP performers from day one of pool play at the championship! M3 WR/DB Chace Brown was one of those players you noticed before the ball was even snapped. Brown carries a bigger frame than most in this age group, but what really stood out was how easily he moved. Brown didn't look stiff or out of place at all. He ran clean, changed direction well, and had enough speed to separate without needing much help. Defenses had a tough time matching up with him all day. Whether it was finding space or just being too much to handle 1-on-1, Brown made things look natural and effortless. He's the kind of young athlete that makes you stop and watch a little closer because everything comes so easily right now for him, with a bright future ahead of him as he gets older. All The Smoke WR Thomas McDuffie brought a different gear to the field all day. McDuffie's speed jumped out immediately, and once he hit open space, it was over. Even if defenders took good angles, they still couldn't track him down. McDuffie wasn't just fast in a straight line, either, but had that quick burst that let him separate early and turn short catches into big plays. Every touch felt like it had home run potential, and McDuffie kept defenses on their heels and made it tough for anyone to stay sticky once he got going. Matthews Elite QB Brady Sofaly put together one of the more complete days you could ask for at this age. Sofaly looked comfortable from the jump, playing with good timing and finding his receivers as they came open. The ball came out clean with nice touch, making it easy on his targets to keep moving after the catch. What made Sofaly stand out even more was how he impacted the game on both sides, coming away with multiple interceptions and showing he's just as instinctive on defense. A really well-rounded performance that separated him from the 10U group. Louisville Dream Team WR [player_tooltip player_id='2136569' first='Farreah' last='Bartee'] was a problem for defenses from start to finish. Bartee brought plenty of speed to the field and made it count, consistently getting behind coverage and turning it into big plays. What stood out even more was how he handled the short and intermediate game, using quickness to shake free and give his quarterback easy windows to throw into. Bartee stayed involved all day and quickly became the go-to option when his team needed a play. Blitz 7v7 WR Zayden Wedman really popped as one of the more exciting young receivers on the field. Wedman showed a quick burst off the line and had no trouble creating space throughout the day. Once the ball was in his hands, he turned into a tough cover, making defenders miss and picking up extra yards with his shiftiness and speed. Wedman caught the ball clean and played with confidence, consistently finding ways to get open and stay involved in the offense. Kentuckiana Bl1tz ATH Carter Lee did a little bit of everything and did it extremely well today. Lee lined up all over the field and never looked out of place, showing a strong feel for what was going on around him. You could hear him communicating, getting teammates lined up and calling out formations, and playing with a level of awareness that stands out at this age. Lee moved naturally, stayed under control, and let his athleticism take over when the play came his way. It's that mix of instincts and ability that makes Lee such a promising young player to watch going forward. P2P Gridiron Gang WR Nathan Graham was a tough matchup on the outside all day. Graham used his length and size to his advantage, giving defensive backs problems when the ball went up. He showed strong hands, pulling in catches through contact and winning his fair share of contested throws. Graham got off the line quickly, found space, and proved to be one of the most reliable targets in 10U. He even made his presence felt on the defensive side, showing he can impact the game in more than one way. Cash Cow Elite ATH Vito Lee made his mark as one of the go-to playmakers on a talented roster. Lee saw time on both sides, but really came alive at receiver, where he consistently found ways to get open and give his quarterback an easy option. He caught the ball clean and turned it upfield with confidence, showing the kind of shiftiness that makes defenders miss in space. Lee stayed active throughout the day and became a reliable safety net whenever the offense needed a play.
