Georgia QB Watchlist: Evaluating the ’27 and ’28 Sleepers

5th Edition   These additions to the "QB Watchlist" include impressive athletes who can exploit defenses with both their arm and their legs. In fact, two of the quarterbacks below even impact the game on the defensive side of the ball, creating plays on the defensive side of the ball.    Denham is an extremely efficient passer, completing nearly 70% of his passes with 17 touchdown passes to only 1 interception in 2025. He is proactive pre-snap, identifying one on one matchups or defenders in conflict which often dictates where he wants to go with the ball. Denham wants to take vertical shots in the passing game and has the arm strength to do so. What really sets the 1st Team All-Region QB apart though is his ability to extend and create explosive plays off script. His ability to escape pressure and find holes in coverage down the field is impressive.      Felix is a true gunslinger under center, as he has an explosive arm that can push the ball over the top of defensive coverages. His highlight opens up with a 70-yard bomb to the endzone; the ball traveled through the air for 50 of those yards. Not only can his arm strength take the top off of a defense, but he can also rifle second and third-level throws into extremely tight windows, helping him to throw for 18 touchdowns and nearly 200 passing yards per game in 2025. Felix can manipulate his throwing angles without losing any velocity or accuracy on his release. This especially helps him in RPO reads. Not mention he is also a dynamic athlete with the ball in his hands, creating big runs off of power read and scrambling when his protection breaks down.      Cannon's ability to accurately distribute the ball downfield without having to set his feet is impressive. He seems to have eyes on the back of his head, escaping pressures and breaking out of what should be sacks to extend plays and find receivers downfield. Likewise, he can find receivers on the backside of his progression for explosive plays on all levels of the field. While improvising, he can hit the deep crosser in stride or throw over the top of a secondary in an instant without having to stop and set his feet. His mobility gets him out of trouble, and his first instinct is not to take off and run, but to find his receivers in open windows. However, if he does decide to pull the ball down and take space, he has the speed and athleticism to make defenders miss in space and the grit to run through a tackler for yards after contact as well.      Hilton is a rhythmic thrower with exceptional footwork and mechanics. He excels in play-action and RPO concepts, as he understands what defenders are in conflict with or responsible for run support. Hilton throws with great anticipation, allowing receivers to never have to break stride and get additional yards after the catch. His arm strength allows him to stretch the defense both vertically and horizontally. His legs allow him to maneuver through the pocket and extend plays. Defenses have to account for him as a runner, as he also poses a threat in the run game. Hilton contributes to the defensive side of the ball as well at corner. He might be one of the few quarterbacks to also return multiple interceptions for touchdowns on defense.      Beverly accounted for over 2,000 yards of total offense in 2025, making him a legitimate dual-threat under center. He is a phenomenal athlete who also plays in the secondary on defense, creating game-changing plays on both sides of the ball. As a passer, the ball leaves his hand with great velocity, allowing him to push the ball vertically on downfield shots and drive the ball to receivers into hole shots outside of the numbers. He is an aggressive runner who will rarely be on the receiving end of a big hit as he initiates contact, helping him to fall forward and gain additional yards. He is a downhill runner with the athleticism to cut back and make defenders miss in space. Beverly shows great patience and attentiveness in the backfield's mesh, freezing defenders to create passing lanes on play action/ RPO concepts and using it to force read defenders to make a clear decision before pulling or giving the ball in run reads.
