The LHSAA's official window for spring football opened Monday with many schools around the state hitting the field right off the bat and the vast majority kicking off their sessions sometime in the next two weeks.

Prep Redzone Louisiana has already started to make some rounds to visit with intriguing teams and prospects all over The Boot, though obviously catching everyone during a fast-paced sprint through limited available days is impossible.

We're continuing our series by pointing out and highlighting a few players from each area we'd like to see — trying to weave a mixture of top prospects with those we haven't had the chance to previously see in person, those who may have particularly pivotal recruiting stretches ahead and even a few younger names to know on the rise.

And, as always, will then begin reporting back with some more updates on the most notable and eye-catching student-athletes from each stop along the way.

Continuing the series, here's a look at eight rising seniors from the capital area to monitor during the weeks ahead.

[player_tooltip player_id='1610241' first='Jude' last='Chamberlain'] — 6-5, 230 TE — Catholic-Baton Rouge

The perennial power Bears have many key pieces to replace as a great 2026 class makes its way to college, but plenty of talent and leadership remains at Claycut and Hearthstone, and the big pass-catcher is — somewhat quietly, it still seems — among the top prospects in the state for the rising senior class. Chamberlain emerged as one of the team's top weapons as a junior with the combination of size and athleticism that made him both a versatile chess piece and a safety blanket. The multisport standout should remain a focal point in the offense and a target on whom the team's new quarterback(s) know they can rely.

[player_tooltip player_id='642719' first='Elijah' last='Haven'] — 6-5, 215 QB — Dunham

Plenty of eyes on a national level — and particularly two states over — will be on the reigning champion and record-breaking quarterback, who committed this weekend to Alabama. Haven had always been a multisport standout with a frame, big arm, athleticism and character that made him among the nation's most intriguing quarterback prospects, and the strides he's made as a passer during the past year-plus to continue turning his potential into production have been impressive. Now he returns to the field aiming to finish his high school career with a senior season chasing history in the form of a title repeat.

[player_tooltip player_id='739753' first='Landon' last='Johnson'] — 6-1, 175 DB/ATH — Madison Prep

Johnson, like Haven, is one of the Baton Rouge area's stars of the 2027 class who has been a major standout for his team from the time he was a freshman and this spring became one of the early prospects in the class to announce college plans with his pledge to Louisiana Tech. Johnson has been a three-phase highlight-reel for his Chargers and has projected primarily as a defensive back — particularly a free safety — at the next level. While he is currently set to do so in Ruston, a recent TCU offer appears a clear indication some Power-Four programs may hope to redirect that course.

[player_tooltip player_id='1356113' first='Marvin' last='Joseph'] Jr. — 6-0, 170 DB/ATH — Central

One of the toughest and most instinctive prospects in the area, Joseph is a missile to the ball — whether that be for a tackle, an interception a forced fumble or fumble recovery or whatever his Wildcats need. And, like a teammate also on this list, he's enjoyed a notable spring of developments on the recruiting trail with at least a dozen new offers, including some Power-Four programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1610147' first='Ethan' last='Kimmie'] — 6-4, 190 WR/DB — Zachary

Kimmie is a multisport standout who first caught our attention on the basketball court and had his best campaign yet in that regard this year as a key piece of the Broncos' successful repeat in Division-I Non-Select. This year also represented a bit of a breakout on the football field going from some intriguing flashes as a sophomore at University Lab to his most consistently productive performance yet. And watching how he build off that with as much confidence as ever and another year in the system at Zachary should be fun over the course of this spring and this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='739720' first='Jayden' last='Miles'] — 6-2, 210 RB — Catholic-Baton Rouge

The Bears' big, physical back has been at work this spring on the track, which should only further help his breakaway ability, and figures to be as big a focal point in the offense as ever with the team working to replace a pair of graduated senior quarterbacks. In addition to the intrigue of watching Miles this spring from an on-field performance standpoint, he's also among the state's most highly ranked prospects and has a July 4 commitment date set that figures to be among the state's anticipated dates of the coming months from a recruiting standpoint.

[player_tooltip player_id='485983' first='Emmanuel' last='Moses'] — 5-11, 175 DB — University Lab

Another longtime standout for his team who in some ways feels like he's been a mainstay for a handful of years or more and in others feels like his prep career has flown by, "ManMan" has long gone from being the baby brother of Dylan and Keylan and become an unquestionable leader of not only the Cubs' defense, but the program. Moses is a smart, physical and vocal playmaker and tone-setter on the back end of the defense for a team always with title aspirations. And like Miles, he'll be a player to watch for a college development in the coming months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2075026' first='Marcus' last='Watson'] Jr. — 6-1, 170 WR — Central

The explosive and springy athlete has been one of the state's biggest stock-risers over the course of this offseason thus far, including a string of notable offers and a commitment earlier this month to Houston. And in many ways, he seems like he may only be beginning to scratch the surface with his best football still very much ahead. His senior season should be a prime opportunity for big production with he and his quarterback among a big and experienced rising senior class, his continued work and development and now the stress of awaiting and deciding on a college opportunity now relieved.
