With the rankings just being released for the 2029 class, we take a look at the NW in its entirety featuring the region's top offense and defense. This won't be completely recruiting based although it is a key factor in the selections. Have a look as we compare both sides of the ball and who might have the advantage if they were to compete.

OFFENSE: One thing that immediately sticks out is the size on the offensive line. Having a pair of 6-7 tackles at this early age is rare, with 6-4 290-pound tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1397364' first='Kamari' last='Wilson'] putting together some of the best film of any freshman in America. Watch his game tape versus O'Dea against multiple high profile D lineman and you see a kid that is different. [player_tooltip player_id='1397350' first='Xavier' last='Berry'] and Wilson should be considered potential 5* recruits. That said, as [player_tooltip player_id='2131617' first='Finn' last='Mellor'] out of Central Oregon looks to be the real deal. Both as a wrestler and lineman.

At the QB spot what [player_tooltip player_id='1557937' first='Jadis' last='Lefono'] did this past season garnering conference POY honors as a 9th grader was incredibly unique. His 27 total TDs (17 passing, 10 rushing) speaks to his upside. If he gets out on the camp circuit the sky's the limit. Archbishop Murphy continues to be one of the fastest rising programs anywhere in the west, landing transfers like top 29' QB [player_tooltip player_id='1906030' first='Drew' last='Sorensen'].

Nelson HS is another team fresh off a record setting season, with one of the region's best young up and coming groups, led by QB [player_tooltip player_id='1564852' first='Landon' last='Benner']. He's undersized but raved about as much as any player in the Northwest. [player_tooltip player_id='570837' first='Jagger' last='McEwen'] is just as noteworthy of a prospect at QB.

Thus far it looks like Oregon has the elite RB's and Washington the WR's. [player_tooltip player_id='2079648' first='Easton' last='Grubb'] put up video game like #s at the lower level as a freshman (3000+ yards, 40 TDs) and he will battle [player_tooltip player_id='1558034' first='Zane' last='Zellick'] of West Linn in the TRL for the next three years. [player_tooltip player_id='2127746' first='Jonny' last='Jenkins'] of Willamette had the best season of any player in Oregon at the Varsity level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1397315' first='Justin' last='Suega'] could be a generational WR and should completely change the game at Federal Way with teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2079658' first='Ludolph' last='Misher'] putting up legit numbers at the varsity level as a freshman. Both [player_tooltip player_id='2065218' first='Siosaia' last='Malietufa'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1384751' first='Kehano' last='Corpuz'] will have their teams listed as state title favorites for the next few seasons. Expect each to be double digit D1 offered athletes, with [player_tooltip player_id='1509111' first='Jagger' last='Salazar'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1563740' first='Mason' last='Girt'] both having the potential of being two of the best in the Three Rivers League as sophomores.

Last but not least don't sleep on 6-5 TE [player_tooltip player_id='2129840' first='Laikyn' last='Donnelly'] of West Salem. He could be the player of the year in multiple sports.

ADVANTAGE: I would have to give the advantage to the offense, but by a slim margin. Both the offensive and defensive line are big strengths for each team. The O line has unreal size and talent (Two top 20 lineman in the country), but the D counters nicely with Tupua and the 6-6 Crawford.

The Washington WR's would likely be the X factor in this mock matchup with the 6-4 Suega, and multiple other D1 offered guys, to go with a 6-5 TE in Donnelly.
