The first ever Prep Redzone 7v7 Utah event took place in Ogden over the weekend. We saw some fantastic football in the shadows of Mt. Ogden on Friday and all day Saturday. In this breakdown, we're putting the spotlight on the 12U division. These nine players stood out in one way or another during pool play and then into bracket play. These players are the future of Utah (and Idaho) high school football!

Bentley Hall - 2032 Quarterback/Defensive Back - EP7 (Idaho)

EP7 quarterback and defensive back Bentley Hall is the only non-Utah player on this breakdown. Hall is also the first of several young prospects that towered over some of the other players in his division. Hall played quarterback for EP7 and made some big throws on offense. But he also made some big plays on defense. He showcased a complete performance in Utah this weekend.

Eli Pickett - 2032 Quarterback - Utah Prospects (Utah)

2032 quarterback Eli Pickett stood out to us during bracket play on Saturday evening. He was spreading the ball around and keeping all his guys involved as they moved up and down the field. He was throwing the ball with accuracy and he was a big reason why they were able to survive and advance further into bracket play. The accuracy he showed was on point.

Guy Waldron -2032 Quarterback - Farmington (Utah)

2032 quarterback Guy Waldron was another quarterback that quickly stood out to us as we watched his team in action. Waldron stood out to us during pool play on Saturday morning. He was calm, cool and collected and did a really good job of directing his offense down the field, time after time. He's another guy that was keeping everyone involved by spreading the ball around.

Ha'o Kalama - 2032 Quarterback - Pink Outlaws (Utah)

The Pink Outlaws dominated their way to the 12U championship on Saturday night. 2032 quarterback Ha'o Kalama led the way and it's insane that he's only in sixth grade. He carried himself like a quarterback that's already in high school. He plays the game with confidence and poise. He has a really strong arm and that was on full display as he and this Pink Outlaw offense dominated the tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='2144194' first='Hudson' last='Peterson'] - 2033 Quarterback - 801 Legends (Utah)

801 Legends quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2144194' first='Hudson' last='Peterson'] was one of the first standouts we watched from the 12U division. As they opened up pool play on Saturday, it didn't take long for Peterson to get our attention. He made a clutch game-winning throw late in a game to get the win. Then we find out that he's only in the 5th grade, playing against teams mostly made up of 6th and 7th graders. It was impressive to see.

Jordyn Foster - 2031 Athlete - Utah Vice (Utah)

Playmaker! Jordyn Foster really impressed us on Saturday, specifically during bracket play on Saturday evening. Foster was making big play after big play. It didn't matter which side of the ball it was, it seemed like every time Utah Vice had a big play, it was Foster getting the job done. He continued to elevate his game throughout the evening on Saturday.

Lona Pierson - 2031 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back Pink Outlaws (Utah)

2031 wide receiver and defensive back Lona Pierson was the cheat code of the 12U division this weekend. Playing for the champion Pink Outlaws, Pierson had an unbelievable size advantage and became an easy red zone target. He made catch after catch over defenders that had no chance competing with his size. He also made quite a few plays on defense. It was an impressive performance from start to finish.

Nai Fotu - 2032 Quarterback/Defensive Back - Pink Outlaws (Utah)

If we had to pick a 12U MVP not from the winning team, we're going with 2032 quarterback and defensive back Nai Fotu from another Pink Outlaws squad. Fotu threw a fantastic ball and to be honest, we were stunned to find out he was just in sixth grade. He was an outstanding quarterback that also turned around and made quite a few plays on the defensive side of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2144631' first='Trey' last='Santos'] - 2033 Wide Receiver - 801 Legends (Utah)

We mentioned clutch with the 801 Legends and 2033 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2144631' first='Trey' last='Santos'] was on the other end of that clutch play down the stretch in pool play on Saturday morning. Santos had a strong showing and just like with his quarterback, it was so impressive to see this club playing up and competing with teams that had a year or two on them as a whole. They never backed down.
