As we turn even more of our attention to the 2026 football season, we can start looking ahead to the numbers game.

In this case, we're breaking down the leaders in the clubhouse to hit some of those eye-opening thresholds that simply can't be ignored. Passing, rushing and receiving yards are the big-ticket items on that side of the ball.

And South Carolina has more than just a handful of players capable of reaching those notable milestones. Let's take a look a several we're expecting to lead the charge.

3,000 PASSING YARDS

After throwing for roughly a 1,000 yards during the playoffs of his freshman season alone, [player_tooltip player_id='1094944' first='Aiden' last='Manavian'] from Oceanside has been on a tear since the start of his sophomore year. He hit 3,500 yards that season and then chased it with a 4,028-yard effort as a junior. Clearly, he's expected to top 3,000 yards again. He's not alone.

Fellow 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2045815' first='Silas' last='Brawner'] (Pinewood Prep) also eclipsed it last fall, as he finished with 3,414 yards for the Panthers en route to their state title. Likewise, 2028 Indian Land quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1467825' first='Matt' last='Kucia'] finished with exactly 3,000 yards and will be throwing even more this fall.

What about the guys who have already topped 2,500 yards so far and could make the gradual jump necessary to hit 3k?

Northwestern's [player_tooltip player_id='232624' first='Xavier' last='Means'] threw for 2,873 yards in his first season as the Trojans' starter last fall. [player_tooltip player_id='1654910' first='Makorean' last='Anderson-Wallington'] (Mountain View Prep) wasn't far behind with 2,700. Philip Simmons' [player_tooltip player_id='1821540' first='Hayes' last='Goddard'] (2,675) and Woodruff's [player_tooltip player_id='1823657' first='Connor' last='Davis'] (2,554) were there, too, boosting an already impressive rising senior class. Tack on Daniel's [player_tooltip player_id='1094520' first='Jace' last='Grass'] (2,779) and the position is already in good hands.

And if we're looking beyond the players who failed to reach 2,500 yards last fall, there's a pretty good short list of quarterbacks who are in programs who could make a massive leap. [player_tooltip player_id='1881741' first='Bear' last='Woods'] (Westside), [player_tooltip player_id='1623307' first='Xavier' last='Wright'] (Gray Collegiate), [player_tooltip player_id='1823858' first='Zach' last='Williams'] (Lugoff-Elgin) and [player_tooltip player_id='1354590' first='Greyson' last='Rimpf'] (Camden) are all part of programs that like to throw the ball and have seen other big passing seasons in the past five years while showing off their own skill sets are capable of hitting the mark, as well.

1,500 RUSHING YARDS

While there were more than 20 tailbacks in the state who averaged more than 100 yards rushing per game, getting to that 1,500-yard mark is a more realistic expectation for the state's top tier.

Unexpectedly, we're seeing all sorts of possibilities for tailbacks sailing past the threshold this year.

Let's start with some of the names who've already done it at least once. Let's start with some of those and their 2025 production:

[player_tooltip player_id='1824329' first='Grant' last='Small'] Williamsburg Academy, 2,080 yards

[player_tooltip player_id='1215391' first='Jayven' last='Williams'] Summerville, 2,017 yards

[player_tooltip player_id='1790589' first='Muntu' last='Brown'] Wren, 1686 yards

[player_tooltip player_id='1036777' first='Trevon' last='Williamson'] Gray Collegiate, 1,662 yards

[player_tooltip player_id='1036753' first='Aiden' last='Gibson'] Woodruff, 1,611 yards (pictured)

[player_tooltip player_id='1172364' first='Mah'ky' last='Green'] Cross, 1,601 yards

Beyond those 2027s, you should also add [player_tooltip player_id='1036721' first='Tre' last='Segarra'] (Byrnes, 1,460 yards), [player_tooltip player_id='1772596' first='Chris' last='Dean'] (Emerald, 1,418 yards) and [player_tooltip player_id='1824044' first='Bryson' last='Crawford'] (Fox Creek, 1,391 yards) to your short list. In the 2028 class, Christ Church's [player_tooltip player_id='293593' first='Michael' last='Martin'] should be, too, after he went for 1,425 yards as a sophomore.

1,000 RECEIVING YARDS

The junior class alone had seven players top the 1,000-yard mark last fall (although Indian Land's [player_tooltip player_id='1819992' first='Sequel' last='Patterson'] has re-classified and is now heading to the college ranks), while two more from 2028 did the same (although Daniel's [player_tooltip player_id='1467841' first='Trey' last='Wimbley'] also re-classified up a year).

Here's what last fall's leaderboard looked like among players with eligibility remaining:

[player_tooltip player_id='874321' first='Raphael' last='Puiu'] James Island, 1,409 yards

[player_tooltip player_id='1822035' first='Ashton' last='Kellermann'] Philip Simmons, 1,314 yards

[player_tooltip player_id='1607177' first='Joey' last='Houpt'] Hilton Head Christian, 1,313 yards

[player_tooltip player_id='1647592' first='Corey' last='Gleaton'] Midland Valley 1,243 yards

[player_tooltip player_id='779428' first='Tajeh' last='Watson-Martin'] Westside (was at Belton-Honea Path), 1,101 yards

[player_tooltip player_id='1467841' first='Trey' last='Wimbley'] Daniel, 1,072 yards)

[player_tooltip player_id='1823853' first='Anthony' last='Williams'] Oceanside Collegiate, 1,061 yards

As for those who didn't do it last fall but very well could this time around, look no further than some of the biggest receiving names in the Palmetto State. Ridge View's [player_tooltip player_id='1172363' first='Khristian' last='Jackson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1172370' first='Kanye' last='Reed'] (who recently transferred from Hammond) are expected to flirt with it, as is [player_tooltip player_id='1036774' first='Amare' last='Patterson'] at Bluffton after he takes over the WR1 spot from a graduating senior who signed with a Power 4 program.
