The 2025 youth football regular season has been done in New Jersey for over a quarter of the calendar year, but with the Morris County Youth Football League releasing its All-Conference selections, it served as a much-welcomed shot in the arm for football diehards across the North Jersey County. Below is a look at some of the standouts from the Mount Olive Marauders Varsity (8th Grade) football team this past season.

Scoring points and winning games is all that matters at the end of the day when determining if a football season was successful or not. While that's a responsibility shared by the entire team, nobody takes more scrutiny over it than QB1. So when MO [player_tooltip player_id='2058588' first='Louis' last='Iozzi'] was not named to an MCYFL All-Conference team, it's justifiable based off the season they had. However, if you look beyond the headlines, Iozzi is certainly a prospect that people around Morris County should know. Despite not being named All-Conference, he was an obvious standout in the MCYFL All-Star Game and I went as far as including him in this writeup highlight 2030 Morris County QBs to know ahead of high school. Iozzi is a stud athlete who has a ton of potential as a dual-threat QB, Defensive Back or possibly even Wide Receiver. With promising size, better in-game speed than many others in the county and superb hand-eye coordination -- keep an eye here.

From what I've seen on film, and in person at the MCYFL All-Star Game, where he was a clear standout in my opinion, Longo is a pillar for this 2030 MO class. He's an athletic kid who plays both Running Back and Linebacker; He also doubles as one of the better 8th grade wrestlers in Morris County, finishing 14-2 on the season and placing 2nd in the Tri-County Youth Wrestling League. Look for him to make a name for himself over the next four years as a rangy Outside Linebacker, who will also make some plays at Running Back.

The current freshman group at Mount Olive High School (class of 2029) rewrote the record books during their youth career and had a lot of skill all over the field. The 2030 class is not nearly as deep at the skills, but it does do have a potential building block up front in [player_tooltip player_id='2059845' first='Jason' last='Hills']. Hills was the lone Marauder to earn a 1st Team All-Conference nod in 2025. He's self-reported at 5-foot-5 and 180-pounds, so the room for physical growth is obvious. However, he has long arms and can seemingly play any position along the O-Line and D-Line.

Running Back/Defensive Back combo [player_tooltip player_id='2059047' first='Julian' last='Cherubin'] was a bright spot this past season. He's a small back and will need to put on size (weight and height) in order to match the success he had on the youth level. As a RB he moved well in space and had pretty good speed on film. Defensively, he was selected for the MCYFL All-Star Game and had a decent day as a Corner. As of this writeup Cherubin is unsure about where he'll be attending high school.

Another undersized kid who flashed at times for Mount Olive in 2025 was WR/DB Colin Young. At this point Young is as small, or smaller, than Cherubin and doesn't appear to be as explosive with the ball in his hands. The two-sport athlete was selected as one of the six MO kids for the MCYFL All-Star Game in November.

Rounding out this writeup is Offensive/Defensive Lineman Cooper Dahms. Dahms, like the others in this writeup was also selected for the MCYFL All-Star Game in November. He lists himself at 5-foot-10 and 150-pounds right now, and in still photos he does appear to be in the neighborhood of that size. In addition to football, he also doubles as a lacrosse player and has played for some of the top club programs in the state.
