In today's report covering the on-going series on positional group players and what they are doing in the off-season to get ready for this fall continues, with the focus today on taking a look at the hybrid-receiver position.

These days many of the talented receivers in high school are playing all up and down the line of scrimmage. Some plays they split wide or are isolated for advantage on the weak side. Others squeezed down into the slot or at the wing. Still others line up in close as a traditional tight end for long stretches of the game but will periodically flex out to take advantage of mismatches.

These guys are the versatile playmakers coaches can build dominating passing attacks around.

In this report, we are taking a look at a variety of receivers who are going to be counted on to play many different positions along the line of scrimmage this year and are hard at it in the off-season to get ready for the challenge.

So without further adieu, let's take a closer look at these guys:

[player_tooltip player_id='934074' first='Stone' last='Zambo'], 6'2, 205, TE/WR, Mill Valley, '27, first up is a baller who is a man on a mission and is laser-focused on a blow-out senior season this fall. He is coming off a good junior year as an up-and-coming tight end who is both a versatile receiver and force multiplier for the powerful Jaguars. Last year he gave us a glimpse of his potential as late in the season, over a two game span caught four passes for 164 yards and a TD, which included two receptions of 60+ yards. He has developed into the complete receiver who can line up tight, make the contested grab and pick up big yards after the catch; as well as deliver pile-driving blocks inside or stalk blocking on the perimeter. This off-season he went right into hoops and will run track this spring. In between he has been busy, playing 7v7, lifting daily, training with TopSpeed and position trainers, and is wearing out the Jugs machine at home. This guy is primed and ready to dominate this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1612738' first='Max' last='Holman'] , 5'10, 165, WR, Liberal, '27, next up is a multi-positional baller who caught my eye last year as a part of the Redskin's arial attack. He is a junior playmaker WR/DB who hauled in 30 passes for 384 yards and four TD's last year, including a season high six for 123 yards and a score against Seaman in the playoffs. He was also a suffocating force out of the secondary with three picks and averaged 25 yard per kick return on special teams. This off-season he has been locked in on getting bigger and faster and is currently powerlifting and doing speedwork. He is also fine-tuning his skills in 7v7 and has a busy junior day/camp-combine plan ahead of him, targeting Sterling, Ottawa and Washburn for junior days as well as camps at KU, K-State, Washburn, Pitt State and the McPherson Prospect camp. Last year was a good warm up and coupled with a strong off-season this three-way weapon is getting ready to deliver a big season this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1556861' first='Wes' last='Riegel'] , 6'3”, 195, WR/ATH, Blue Valley North, ‘27, he is another hybrid receiver who has been on my radar for awhile now and is getting ready for a breakout season this fall. With next-level size and speed he can play any of the receiver positions, split wide, in tight or as a wing, in the slot or as an H-back as needed. With a big catch radius and secure hands he can be counted on to make the tough grab. Once the season ended he went right into the team's offseason lifting program and is also doing speed and agility training with Kendrick Harper at Harper Island Speed Training. So far this offseason he has met with North Dakota State, Missouri State, South Dakota State, South Dakota, and North Dakota and is planning on camps at Illinois State, the Lindenwood Mega Camp and Miami of Ohio Mega Camp this summer. He has also received significant Ivy League school interest. This guy is getting ready to light it up this fall.

Ayden Rookwood, 6'0, 170, WR/DB, Leavenworth, '27, and last but certainly not least for the soon-to-be seniors is a talented two-way playmaker who showed signs of taking his game to the next level last fall. A year ago he was typically used as a wideout, but can also play from the slot and last season gave coaches and scouts a look at his potential with 25 receptions for 300+ yards and hauled in 10 touchdown passes. Once the season came to a close he went right into the weight room and is pounding the iron to get bigger, stronger and faster. He is also focused on tightening up his route running, separation mechanics and hand-eye coordination. This spring he intends to run track to optimize explosiveness and continue working on speedwork and acceleration. He has a number of camps and junior days that he is still in the processing of deciding on for spring and summer. This guy may be flying under the radar for now but that is getting ready to change with a strong senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2103018' first='Cameron' last='Montano'], 5'8, 150, WR/DB, Wichita South, '29, first up for the young receivers is an athletic baller and two-way player who lines up at wide receiver on offense and in the secondary on defense. After getting exposure to the varsity game last year, once the season ended he shifted gears and went right into the off-season grind in preparation for this fall. Currently he is training hard in the weight room to put on size, add strength and is also conducting speedwork, agilities and focusing on position-specific drills to fine-tune his skill sets on both sides of the football. He is also gearing up for baseball this spring and is still in the process of deciding which camps and combines are the best fit for what he is wanting to accomplish before next season. This guy plays the game like every play is his last snap and now that he has gotten acclimated to the varsity game he is more focused than ever for a big season this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1877947' first='Beckett' last='Kleiber'], 5'11, 150, WR/DB, Hillsboro, '30, drum roll please...we have our first posting from the class of...2030...! This young playmaker got my attention earlier in the year when I heard there was a talented eighth grader playing 7v7 for the Kansas Colts. Turns out he is a rising-star WR/DB who will play varsity football for Hillsboro this fall. From what I have seen this kid has all the tools to be a player at the varsity level. He is a versatile asset on offense, lining up wide, in the slot, or moving back to take the direct snap in the Wildcat to take advantage of his speed and elusiveness running the ball. In addition to 7v7 he is getting ready for track and is also another local baller who is training with Coach Rashad on the nuances of the receiving position. He is also planning to hook up with Revive Performance to optimize performance training. Camps are still being considered but currently undecided. Get this guy on your watchlists he is the real-deal.
