Our Winter rankings update pinpointed even more players from the 2027, 2028 and 2029 classes who have stood out in their respective positions. For a variety of reasons, our team decided that each of those new additions were worthy of a coveted spot in our rankings.

But as you've discovered by following along, we're nowhere near done.

As we traverse the offseason, we're also seeing a changing of the guard. And, as such, PRZ South Carolina is constantly looking at as many of the 10,000 or so prep football players in the SCHSL and SCISA ranks as possible.

Now, the Community Film Room is back.

In each edition, we'll break down five unranked players from across the state to let you see what we're seeing. The series will lead right into the the start of the spring rankings cycle, the ever-growing importance of the summer program schedules and then the 2026 season.

In Episode 76, we're digging into a No. 2 receiver from the CSRA, a young GSPD defensive back with an increasing weight of expectations, a hybrid tight end/tailback from the CRR probably still trying to hit something, a SCISA quarterback with some serious grit and a two-way skill guy who has a shot at making 1,000 all-purpose yards look easy next fall.

Washington had a bit of a back-and-forth last 12 months. After not catching a pass for the Mustangs as a sophomore, he finished second on the team in receiving yards (447) and touchdowns (four) while putting up a third-best 23 receptions. He won't have to be the guy as long as [player_tooltip player_id='1010338' first='Cameron' last='Gleaton'] is still on the field. But he's a pretty strong complement.

Take a look at what he did against Class 5A squads JL Mann and Lexington from last August and September as an example. In those two games, with Gleaton getting a ton of attention, Washington caught 11 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns. His production tapered off some as the season progressed, but the threat remained.

Now, after recovering from the effects of a car accident, Washington is back into the offseason routine and looking like he's going to pick up even more targets after two of the team's other receivers transferred out of the program. He is super twitchy immediately after the snap and can cause some problems this fall.

When a coach actively says that a current freshman is about to be a three-year captain, you know some expectations are there. That's exactly what McFadden is looking at after he started every game at corner last fall and led the team with five interceptions and five pass break-ups to go along with 39 total tackles.

His film illuminates how he was able to get to some of those figures. If you're looking for a common theme, it's this: McFadden was an expert ball hawk who was adapting to offensive, in-play changes better than the opponents. When teams abandoned some of their plans in the passing game, he quickly morphed into a player much older than he really is.

McFadden's tackling skills are already there, whether he was well positioned to make the stop or not. That last part elevated his game, and it helped create the aforementioned commentary from his coaching staff.

Is Halpin a tight end moonlighting as a tailback or a tailback moonlighting as a tight end? The simple answer is “Yes.” The 5-foot-10, 215-pound bulldozer provides so much for the Copperheads' offense that he's not going to get pigeon-holed into either designation any time soon.

During his junior season, Halpin made sure everyone knew it, too. While he was getting more time in the backfield than previous seasons, his power was undeniable. He's can take a handoff and hit the hole, or he can fake it and sneak through the line to catch an outlet pass in the flat or up the seam.

He can also line up offset behind the tackle or guard and provide some additional pass-blocking help. And, yes, at other times he may very be next to the tackle with his hand on the ground. In any capacity, he's a load.

Two things are true about Wolf. One, he's most likely not going to be getting a lot of looks from colleges as a quarterback. Two, the toughness and understanding of the game he's picking up as the Warriors' signal caller should absolutely lead him to a college landing spot at another position.

The 6-foot, 170-pound rising senior is an absolute chameleon. He can start in the gun and use it to make quick and safe passes to the flat or downfield and can a few plays later bring JPII into an option attack, a change-of-pace look that he's had two seasons to learn. Going into next fall, he's already got 1,300 rushing yards, 2,100 passing yards and 25 combined touchdowns on his resume.

Wolf has struggled with turnovers here and there, but it's not surprising that most of those last fall came in blowout losses when the Warriors were pressing a bit more. Either way, Wolf is going to be the engine of this offense for one more run, and it should be a good one.

It didn't take much time for opposing defenses to recognize that Robinson was going to be a huge part of the Monarch offense in 2025. In the opening game against Crestwood, he was targeted nine times. He turned that into three receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns. The trend continued throughout the year, as Robinson was the team's most viable receiver en route to 800-plus yards.

He showed off some nifty moves in his routes, had no issue going up for passes and frequently found himself behind his man, needing only a decently thrown ball to make it count. But wait, there's more.

At safety, he had 23 tackles, five pass deflections and a pick (which he returned for a touchdown) in the regular season alone. Robinson was also the team's top kickoff return threat, averaging better than 18 yards on those.
