Bishop Verot Needs To Be More Consistent This Season

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Moments after their 51-14 playoff loss to eventual 2A state champion Sarasota Cardinal Mooney for the second time in the season, Fort Myers Bishop Verot head football coach <strong>Richie Rode</strong> and his staff took a step back and looked at the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What they found during an up and down 5-7 year was this team was good enough to make the state playoffs and win a game, but also saw that the play on the field was not what was needed to make a serious run at a title.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While there were some pieces that would return for 2026, the Vikings would have to turn it up a notch if they were going to beat the teams they needed to get by to advance further.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There was no doubt that while prospects would need to step up and make a year-round commitment, the playmakers would also have to step up their game – and that included the rising senior (2027) class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Speaking of that class, there are some quality performers ready to lend their experience and leadership.
