Only the first trio of Louisiana's top 2027 prospects had announced college commitments prior to this week, but the dominos appear to be starting to fall around the state.

Offers have been rolling in all over the state, and athletes have started making spring visits and locking in their summer schedules for more as they zero in on their primary options.

Two players announced pledges this week (check out the defensive updates article for more details), helping kick off two in-state programs' recruiting classes, and more appear poised to follow sooner than later.

Here's a look at some of the biggest new developments in recent weeks among prospects on the offensive side of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='934559' first='Javon' last='Vital Jr.'] — 5-10, 195 ATH — Lake Charles College Prep

The human highlight reel from southwest Louisiana may be the next prospect to share his commitment decision — at least he's the next publicly announced with an April 2 date now set — and he's a big one. Vital was among Prep Redzone Louisiana's earliest ranked prospects and is in the state's top 10 as his final high school offseason ramps up. LSU has been a major factor in his process for more than a year and represents one of the first major tests for new coach Lane Kiffin and company's recruitment of the state, because USC in particular has hard-charged its way into strong position among a list of suitors also including Ole Miss and Houston hoping to pry Vital out of The Boot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1610241' first='Jude' last='Chamberlain'] — 6-5, 230 TE — Catholic-Baton Rouge

Another of Prep Redzone Louisiana's highest-ranked prospects in the rising senior class, Chamberlain's stock continues to sky-rocket with a Florida offer in late December and Duke, Florida State and Texas Tech in January help kick off an offseason that has also now added Northwestern, Stanford, Louisiana (Lafayette), South Florida, Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Kentucky to his offer list. The tall, athletic tight end emerged this fall as a go-to weapon — and a versatile one, at that — for his Bears and followed up that performance on the field with a winter helping lead the school's basketball team to a state-tournament appearance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1251694' first='Jaylen' last='Haywood'] — 6-7, 345 OL — Amite

The Warriors' big trench standout has always had the rare size that intrigued college coaches, but has appeared to be as active as ever this offseason on his conditioning and footwork to better prepare him for that leap to the next level. And his offer list has continued to develop nicely as well with South Alabama, Tulane, McNeese State, Oklahoma State, Florida Atlantic and Texas State all entering the mix with LSU and others also actively recruiting him heading into spring practices.

Tylek Lewis — 6-1, 210 RB — Zachary

One of a couple running backs on this list whose recruitments have absolutely exploded this offseason, Lewis has fielded offers from Arkansas, Alcorn State, Prairie View A&M, UTEP, Louisiana (Lafayette), Old Dominion, McNeese State, South Alabama, South Florida and most recently Tulane already this calendar year. Lewis provided more than 1,100 yards and 21 touchdowns this fall as part of a 1-2 running back punch for his Broncos that was critical in their weathering some speed bumps and peaking at the right time on their way to a semifinal run.

[player_tooltip player_id='723530' first='Ashton' last='Stark'] — 5-10, 170 WR/DB — Lutcher

The Bulldogs' standout was among the highly ranked prospects in the earliest Prep Redzone Louisiana lists for the class and has continued to excel as a versatile, three-phase playmaker. Stark is a smooth, quick and speedy athlete with good instincts and ball skills and doesn't shy away from physicality. His junior season included 800-plus receiving yards, nearly 250 rushing yards, another nearly 200 return yards and four touchdowns and 37 tackles on defense. And his subsequent offseason has seen Arkansas, Grambling State, Troy, Louisiana (Lafayette), Ole Miss, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Arkansas State and Wake Forest among his newest offers.

Aymaud Sykes — 5-10, 170 RB — Grant

Maybe the fastest-rising star of this offseason thus far among Louisiana's rising seniors, the prolific Grant running back has gone from a Grambling State offer last summer to now McNeese State, Tulane, Northwestern State, Arkansas, Louisiana (Lafayette) and Louisiana Tech in the past month and a half. College coaches were intrigued by Sykes' nearly 2,200-yard junior season, and this offseason has provided opportunities for him to verify both his speed and his physical measurables — both of which check boxes for the next level. And as he continues hitting more camps, his capability as a pass-catcher and well-rounded weapon overall should only continue to grow his stock.

[player_tooltip player_id='1614578' first='John' last='Walker V'] — 6-1, 180 WR — Plaquemine

Another highly productive weapon for his team over the past couple of the season whose is now seeing the offer list start filling up to match, Walker has become a target of Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, Liberty, McNeese State and South Alabama thus far this offseason. The long, lean and speedy athlete has the ability to beat defense opposing defenses in any number of ways with a long track record of stretching the field with deep shots, breaking quick passes for huge gains and winning contested catches in the air with his athleticism, body control and strong hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='2075026' first='Marcus' last='Watson'] Jr. — 6-1, 160 WR/DB — Central

The Wildcats' multisport standout has been another notably fast-rising wide receiver prospect early his offseason with Cincinnati, Houston, Tulane and North Texas all offering during the past two and a half weeks. Watson is emerging as one of the most athletic members of the class with his explosiveness, quickness and speed all on full display at the Prep Redzone Louisiana Stock Up Showcase in January with a pair of broad jumps over 10 feet, 4.41-second shuttle and a 4.50-second 40-yard dash. He's poised to be a high-ranking debut in the PRZLA's next round of updates.
