Best Prospects of the CWC- Large Conference

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Our next conference that we are diving head first into is the CWC-Large Conference. An 8 team conference made up of Colby, Loyal/Greenwod, Weyauwega- Fremont, Wittenberg-Birnamwood, Marathon, Spencer/Columbus Catholic, Amherst, and Stratford. It is a conference of high expectations. Stratford has long been one of Wisconsin's most consistently excellent programs with several runs to state and championships. Just in the past few years we have also seen great teams come from Wittenberg- Birnamwood, Amherst, and Colby including a Colby team that went on to a State Championship a few years ago. This conference might be smaller schools, but they are ready to battle with the best and make each other the best. So there is plenty of talent to dive into that college coaches will want to know about and keep an eye on this summer/season. Colby's Carsen Thomsen of Colby is one of those to know in the Class of 2028. Checking in at 6'4" 215 lbs, Carsen looks the part already and is demonstrating the ability to use that size to create space and protect the ball at the catch. The big man has clips showing he can get up the seam quickly too. The next one to know is 2027 Carter Birdyshaw. QB probably isn't Carter's home at the next level, but the 5'10" 155 lbs athlete deserves an opportunity to let that athleticism shine. Carter brings speed, quick twitch agility, acceleration, and really strong vision/instincts with the football. I could easily see him transitioning to the slot or CB and developing into an impact player. The junior has an impressive highlight reel. He carved up defenses with his legs. The '27 attacks the defense like an RB really. Downhill, sudden agility through traffic, and a powerful burst of acceleration to win in tight quarters. Plus he has that field-flipping speed. Davis separates himself by also having an arm that can zip the ball around the field with surprising velocity for a kid that tips the scale around 160 lbs. The long WR has proven to be an explosive mismatch out wide. He is quick off the line and his long strides eat up yardage to get downfield surprisingly fast. Garrett is also smooth with his routes and consistently has plenty of space between him and the DB for his QB to easily target. The 6'1" 170 lbs WR also plays the ball in the air really well and comfortably. The small school ILB looks the part of a college LB with his 6' 225 lbs frame. The junior plays the part to match that big frame. He is so physical and strong, laying the wood on ball carriers with powerful tackles that stop forward momentum. Landon also does really well using that power to get into the backfield and defeat blocks on the way through the trenches. The 2027 RB amassed over 2,000 all purpose yards and 24 TDs in 2025. The 5'11" 195 lbs RB is a fun watch, but he has to be a nightmare to play. Jack has built a strong, and very low center of gravity. Over and over it allows Hoeper to easily absorb contact, break tackles, and run through outstretched arms. His ability to flip on that second gear in space further separates him and balances his game. Size, production, contact balance, and athleticism all qualify Hoeper for the next level. That frame matches the position really well. Plus he has shown that he has the power and hand use technique to be able to find ways to win and beat big OL in the trenches. Plus when Ryan gets into the backfield he shows that he has that burst to close quickly. The tape also shows a solid first step that could make him also an effective blitzer from the LB position. The 2027 RB torched defenses with a dynamic and explosive blend of contact balance and speed. Ayden clearly has a special skill set. The way he can go from agility to fighting through contact, to hitting his 2nd gear in the open field all on the same play is hard to find in an athlete. Ayden's instincts are very strong and allow him to quickly understand how to best attack defenders that are trying to bring him down. The highlights show a WR who is going to do what it takes to go get the football with his trustworthy hands. He has the frame for the position at 6'2" 185 lbs. The 2027 has a lot of film showing his talents as a run defender. Both from the deep safety spot and from up near the box. Tyler is able to play through traffic well and get to the football efficiently. When he needs to get downhill and make a stop he is effective with his closing burst and tackling.
