With the month of March coming close to its end, the 2026 high school football offseason is in full force and we are in the midst of a new round of Prep Redzone rankings updates in the state of Kentucky. The latest class to get an update is the class of 2028, with our new Top 125 dropping last week. Now that these rankings have been released, I will be taking some time to break them down by position. To kick things off, here are our top quarterbacks in the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217665' first='Chase' last='Bell'] served in mainly a backup/rotational role as a sophomore but he has still proven to be the most talented quarterback in the state in his class. Bell has a very strong arm which he uses to lead his receivers down the field with ease in the deep passing game. He has also shown impressive zip and accuracy in the short/intermediate passing game, showing the ability to fit passes into tight windows where only his intended receiver has a chance to catch it. In 13 games as a sophomore, Bell completed 51/67 passes for 609 yards, eight touchdowns, and one interception. He also scored a rushing touchdown this past season. Bell currently holds offers from Maryland, Bethune-Cookman, Georgia State, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect that to keep coming his way as he continues to develop.

[player_tooltip player_id='1701057' first='Jackson' last='Burke'] led CAL to their fourth-consecutive 3A state title and was one of the most productive passers in the state as a junior. In 15 games, Burke completed 214/257 passes for 3,526 yards, 53 touchdowns, and only one interception. He is a very good decision makers, going through his reads effectively to find the open receiver and doesn't force many throws into coverage. Burke's outstanding accuracy was on full display as a sophomore as he set a national single-season record for completion percentage at 83.3%. He also recorded one rushing touchdown this past season. Jackson holds an offer from UT-Martin and I wouldn't be surprised to see more come his way this offseason as he is a true Division I caliber quarterback prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1688494' first='Jhet' last='Raleigh'] was very impressive in his first season as Boyle County's starting quarterback, leading the Rebels to a 4A state title. Raleigh completed 141/191 passes for 2,067 yards, 22 touchdowns, and just two interceptions in 15 games as a sophomore. He has a great feel for pressure, showing the ability to maneuver in the pocket and escape when needed while keeping his eyes down the field to find the open receiver. Jhet has shown tremendous ball placement, putting the ball in a spot away from the opposing defender where only his intended receiver can catch it. He also showed some true dual-threat ability as a sophomore, running the ball 60 times for 339 yards and five touchdowns. Raleigh currently holds offers from Troy and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to pile up for him as he continues to develop moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1701052' first='Charlie' last='Ellison'] is another quarterback who stood out in his first year as a starter. In 13 games, Charlie completed 53/89 passes for 1,412 yards, 20 touchdowns, and three interceptions. Ellison is very effective in Scott County's Wing-T offense, showing the ability to freeze the opposing defense with very impressive play action fakes. He throws an impressive deep ball, using his arm to stretch the field and touch to hit his receivers in stride. Ellison also ran the ball 42 times for 109 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore. Charlie holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I can see more coming his way heading into his junior year.

To wrap up our top five quarterbacks in the class of 2028 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1056924' first='Knox' last='Barrett']. Barrett is coming off a strong sophomore year in which he completed 225/321 passes for 3,119 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions in 15 games and led the Flyers all the way to the 4A State Championship Game. Barrett has tremendous arm strength which he is able to use to lead his receivers down the field and hit them in stride with ease in the deep passing game. He has also shown the ability to escape pressure when needed while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. Knox also scored a rushing touchdown as a sophomore. Barrett doesn't currently hold any offers but he has received a good amount of college interest and I expect a lot of eyes to be on him this upcoming season.
